The ribbon text object allows you to display a line of curving text on the page. Many properties of the text can be customized. Some of these settings include: font, text color or fill, shadow, transparency, outline and spacing between characters, etc.
To give your text a curvy appearance, drag on the dots on your text's bounding lines.
Tip: To add more dots to your text that you can use to further curve the text, right-click along various points of the bounding lines of your ribbon text directly on the page. By dragging these dots, you can create more bends and curves in your text.
Tip: Ribbon Text objects can be resized by first selecting the object, and then while holding the Shift key, resize it using the object's bounding box.

The text that you want to display in the ribbon text object.
The font that you want to use for the ribbon text. Click the select button to choose a different font.
Note: Only TrueType fonts are supported.
Make the text bolded.
Make the text italic.
Underline the text.
Put a line through the text.
The font size to use for the ribbon text.
Show a drop shadow on the page for the ribbon text. This feature allows you to add a three dimensional effect to the text.
You can make specific adjustments to the appearance of your shadow.
Choose Solid Color, Color Blend, or Image/Pattern for the fill of your text.
Tip: Clicking the "More Colors..." button on the color menu allows you to choose a either a standard color/custom color, or use the eyedropper to pick a color from somewhere within the Scrapbook MAX! application window.
Make the interior/fill of your text a solid color. Select the desired color from the color menu to the right of this box.
Blend two colors for the interior/fill of your text. Select your two colors from the two color menus to the right of this box.
Insert a pattern as the interior/fill of your text. Browse to an image that you want to use as your pattern fill by using the Select Image browse button.
Tip: Image/patterns can also be moved, zoomed or rotated.
Adjust the transparency of your text by using the transparency slider, or inserting the numerical value of your desired transparency.

Select this box to display an outline around the perimeter of the characters of your text.
Select the color for the outline of your text from the color menu.
Tip: Clicking the "More Colors..." button on the color menu allows you to choose a either a standard color/custom color, or use the eyedropper to pick a color from somewhere within the Scrapbook MAX! application window.
Adjust the thickness of the outline of your text with the Thickness slider, or input the degree of thickness in the box beside the slider.
Adjust the transparency of the outline of your text with the Transparency slider, or input the degree of transparency in the box beside the slider.
Adjust the amount of space between each character of your text with the Character slider, or input the amount of space in the box beside the slider.
Selects the character set to use from the selected font. For example, to display letters in the Greek alphabet, you would first choose a font that contains a Greek character set, and then select "Greek" from this list to enable that character set.
Note: The list of character sets is different for each font. You will only be able to choose from the character sets available in the font you currently have selected on the Settings tab.
Adjust how smooth and curvy the lines between the drag points will be. Use the Smoothness slider to adjust the amount of curviness, or input a value in the box beside the slider.
Note: The higher the value, the more rounded the bends around the drag points will be. (Dragging the slider to the left makes the lines between your drag points straighter.)
Note: Directly on the page, you can add more dots to your ribbon text for additional curving capability by right-clicking on various points along the text's bounding lines. Introduce curves into your text by dragging on the dots.
Connect the beginning and endpoints of your line of ribbon text.
Prevents characters from overlapping one another as you manipulate the bend in the text.
From the Mode dropdown, you can further specify where you want overlap to be prevented: Between adjacent characters (Default), Within each word, Between adjacent words, Throughout entire text.
