I just love this template from SBM, so I didn't change anything - just added the picture which is a copy of a painting by my sister of one of the islands in the Firth of Forth, the estuary of the river Forth, that divides Edinburgh from the county - more accurately, the Kingdom - of Fife. I think the colours are perfect for the template. I also think my sister is very talented!


Fidra is said to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stephenson's map of Treasure Island. It is volcanic in origin and took its name from Old Norse - something to do with bird feathers. It has a substantial population of seabirds living on it, the only inhabitants - though once they say there was an old chapel for the sick, a lazaretto, dedicated to St Nicholas. The lighthouse built in 1885 has been automated since 1970.
