This is one of the last photos I took of my dear cousin and friend, Moira, who died this year. It was taken last summer in her house in Sutherland when we still had no idea she was so ill, and is such a lovely picture of her chatting happily on the phone.


The reason for the clematis flower is that once when I visited I took her a small glass vase with clear resin "water" and a silk clematis in it. She was delighted with it, first thinking it was real, and wondering how I had managed to transport it safely all the way from my home to hers - a 6 hour journey! She kept it on her mantleshelf afterwards, and often commented how much she loved it!
