I was given a small piece of paper with these words on a few years ago by a good friend. My Godfather/Uncle had just died and she passed these words on to me hoping they would give comfort to me, as they had given comfort to her when she lost her dad. Now I pass them on to you Marion hoping they help in some way.


History
The words were written by Canon Henry Scott-Holland, 1847-1918, Canon of St Paul's Cathedral.'The King of Terrors', a sermon on death delivered in St Paul's Cathedral on Whitsunday 1910, while the body of King Edward VII was lying in state at Westminster:
