It was a proud day in the early 1940’s when my birthday present was a new trike. It wasn’t a baby size either, it was perfect for the big girl that I thought I was. Even though it was the month of November, luck was with me as the winter snows had not yet started. Here I am very bundled up in my warm clothes and ready for the first ride. My smile was forced as I wanted to get going and not pose for Mom to take a picture.
