Oh Maxine how I wish I had known YOU. All I knew of you was a woman suffering from Alzheimer’s and our time together was not that pleasant especially when I became pregnant. Your son became your husband and you looked on me like the local prostitute trying to entice him away. The stories your son and sisters have told me portray you as a wonderful, generous and kind woman who would do anything for anyone. The woman in this photo is who you truly were and are as you wait for us in heaven. I know we would have been friends as I have been told that your son is so like you and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have tears when ever I see this photo; I see the love in your eyes and the mischief in your smile. I so wished I had experienced those instead of the bitter relationship that we had. One day not too soon - God willing - I will meet you and we will laugh and enjoy our time together with the kindness you knew when Alzheimer’s had not claimed your mind.
