      Our Trip to Portage Valley


      The glaciers in Portage Valley are the Explorer Glacier, the Middle Glacier, the Byron Glacier, the Burns Glacier, the Shakespeare Glacier, and Portage Glacier.


      A glacier is a large body of ice that forms on land, remains year-round, and is moving. Often referred to as 'Rivers of Ice' there are 100,000 glaciers in Alaska. There are 10,000 in the Chugach National Forest which is in and around the Anchorage area.

      Beautiful, just love this template. Would love to see Alaska. You must feel about your beautiful land, the way I feel about my beautiful island (Cuba). Hard to see them defaced!

      Beautiful! We have visited Alaska and find it awe-inspiring! We\'ve stayed in Fairbanks and Palmer - so beautiful!
