Jane was born in South Shields, within the area where you can truly call yourself a Geordie. Her first husband died very young leaving her with three young children. Presumably to earn a living she took in lodgers, one of whom was to become her second husband, Alex Wood, who was from Scotland.


Apparently she was quite a character and never felt she was completely and properly dressed till she had put on her earrings. I have coloured the dangly earrings she was wearing in the photo, to emphasise that point!


I seem to have been hooked on surrounding pictures with text when I made these last few pages. This one tells about the earrings!
