Uncle Pearly had an affair during WWI and after coming back stateside, found out there would be a child. His wonderful wife arranged for the woman & child to come to America, adopted the baby, and had Pearly's brother wed the woman to save her reputation. The woman left her new husband a year after marriage and was forgotten but the child was raised and loved as their 2nd child.
