Growing up everyone called them "Big Grandma" and "Little Grandma". My grandmother was 5' 1" tall and was a sweet mild mannered woman. She had to be with 9 children to raise - 8 boys and 1 girl. I wish I had a better picture of her. My great grandmother was a whopping 4' 11'' tall wearing a size 2 or 3 shoe, depending on the style. She was a spunky little thing. I loved spending afternoons with her watching "The Waltons" and "Little House on the Prairie". Both are very much loved and missed by everyon in our family.

3 comments JLK "Big Grandma, Little Grandma" Resource id #24 Thu, 27 Dec 2007 13:44:04 -0600

by: Ladybug

Description: Here is pictures of my grandmother and great grandmother. Now I can't find the slip that I wrote on for where I got the items. So if You recognize the kit please let me know. This is my friend Shawn (on the right) and I when we were toddlers. She lived on the street behind me. This picture was taken at her house. Her family moved to California when we were still small. We started writing letters when we learned how to write. When we were about 7 years old, they moved to Michigan about an hour away from me. We are still friends today at 50.

3 comments Rita & Joan Resource id #24 Wed, 12 Dec 2007 09:22:53 -0600

by: angelwithin

Description: a vintage friendship...they met in singapore when they were very young and are still best friends over 60 years later! the photos are of them both togteher around the age of 9 in singapore and 60 years later they both went back to visit their 'childhood'

1 comment Xmas Resource id #24 Wed, 12 Dec 2007 03:37:20 -0600

by: scrappyaggie48

1 comment we believe Resource id #24 Tue, 11 Dec 2007 23:11:01 -0600

by: rachnmaddie

Description: My father in law and Mike's aunt dressed for Christmas. This was a big deal back then! The children would rush through their chores and then run to the field to watch. Neighbors would show up to help each other on their appointed threshing days. The women would all be busy making the meal and snacks that the men would eat. This was what our ancestors considered fun and full of social activity back then!! Wish I could have been there!
