Thanks Kimmyann . . .
I don't think we think of that far into it . . . We don't object to any of the celebrations, we just don't participate in it. . . We teach our kids to respect everyone, and that means their cultures, religious beliefs, hobbies, interests and differences in personalities and characters too.

Lovely LO Daydreamer. I totally get what you mean about cultures and I agree, we also respect and enjoy the cultural differences between us.
But Kimmyann is so right - Santa Claus (Father Christmas, Baboushka, et al) goes beyond any cultural identity, he is a symbol of hope, faith and the innocence of childhood.
Brightest Blessings - FS xx

Thanks FreeSpirit!!! I've always realised Santa means a great deal to Christians, I just don't think I gave it much consideration
