    Question Shaping a photo question

    Hi,
I am enjoying my summer by doing some scrapbooking with scrapbook max; however, I have ran into a problem.
I am working on a 4th of July scrapbook and I found a frame that is shaped like a flag (it is crooked shaped) and I have the perfect picture I want to put in it. My problem is, I don't know how to cut the picture to fit inside the frame shape. I have right clicked on my picture and hit crop, but it doesn't allow me to cute out a crooked shape to fit the frame.
I have searched the help file, but I am not finding anything to help me.
Is there some thing I can do to cut the picture other than in a square or rectangle??
    Thanks for the help!!
    Take care,
    God Bless,
    Tari

heres two that you can use, use the first one to cut the frame out and the second one to cut the photo to fit.

to make a photo shape to fit a frame perfectly just use the frame shape and take it into a graphics programme and reverse the colours - save it under a different name thou!

    Hi fiona,
Thank you for replying; I have a flag frame already picked out. I just don't know how to cut my picture that I want to put in the frame.

I wish there was a way to put on here my frame that I want to use and my picture so you could see what I am talking about. I just don't know much about inserting pics here.

if its a jpeg or png you can use the manage attachment features just below the posting box....upload the image and i'll make you a photo cutout with it ...i'll also put how to cut the photo if its a different shape to the flag ie if its a portrait photo and the flag is landscape

or just email it to me at srangelwithin@aol.com

    Hi Mint

open the frame image you want to make a photo cutout for in a programme like paintshop pro (any photo editing programe works for this i believe)

then use the negative option this will reverse the white parts to black and the black parts to white, save this new image under a new name (i normally just place the word photocut on the end of the original file name)

heres some programmes ways to reverse the colours

    for paint shop pro
open image > Adjust > Colour Balance > Negative image > save image as jpeg

    for photo impressions 4
Open image > edit > enhance > Negative button (blue eye) > apply > Save image as jpeg

    for photo elements 5
open image > filter> adjustments > invert > save image as jpeg

ive also added a tutorial on how the frame cutout shape and photo cutout shape come together once you've made the shape and a square photo shape so you can do square & circle shaped photo frames easier

    love fiona xx
