new from Alabama!

My name is Lauren and I live in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. My sister gave me Scrapbook Max (and the wedding edition) for my birthday in June.

I've always loved the idea of scrapbooking, and I've always loved the way they looked--i just never have had the time or the motivation to actually do it, much less the money (I was a poor student!). Now I'm married and have a 5 year old daughter, plus a full-time job, so I have even less time than before.

My mother in law lives in another country, and because of visa issues can't visit us, so I like to send lots of pictures. Recently, I've been sending pictures on CD because the cost of sending packages internationally is quite pricey. What I was originally looking for was some sort of movie-making software, that would let me publish pictures to CD and decorate the page and maybe add some music. Eventually my sister and I talked about it, and we came up with the conclusion that there simply must be some sort of digital scrapbooking software out there. So she (the IT wizard) did a few searches and came up with some names, among them this site, and when I saw all the different ways that you could publish your scrapbook, plus all the different things that you can do with just one set and some boosters, I was hooked. I dl'ed the trial, and then she bought me the full version for my birthday.

Right now I'm still learning how to do things; every day I learn something new! And my pages are getting lots better--I'm going to have to buy a new scanner one day though, because the one i've got isn't going to cut it anymore!

A few more things about me, I guess: I'm 26, I lovelovelove to read, I speak fluent Spanish and I love to travel, although I don't ever get to do it--I've been to Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Gibraltar (so technically I've been to the UK! at least, that's what my passport says!).

I'm really excited to learn more about scrapbooking from others; right now my pages are sort of simple in design, and i'd really like to learn how to my pages absolutely scrumptious like some of the pages i've seen!
