For a while after I posted this I was afraid that it was only loved by me.

Annette is my wife. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in February. The portarit was taken in 1955 (21yrs) \ and the wedding portrait in 1957. They are now out of copyright in Australia.

My other interest than photography (Exhibition/Competition level) is Family History.

We have a little game in Australia wherein we try to uncover as many 'convicts' in our ancestry as possible. After that most of us find research in England/Ireland rather difficult.
I have a brick wall with my paternal Great Grandmother, Ellen Hayes, she seems to have arrived in Australia unannounced at a tender age and married at 15yrs. Ellen Hayes was a popular name in Ireland
I am pleased to say that I have found more convicts than free settlers in my ancestry.

I am hoping to find a really good family tree template one day, otherwise I will have to build my own.

Do you use software for your genealogy?
I use legacy family tree, and it will print the tree for you,
so what I did was make a pretty background. Like an 8 x 11 layout no pics though... and let it print the heiarchy of my genealogy OVER the background I made.

    then for a large print,
I printed the heirarchy on white, and scanned it back in...

In PSP I layered their heirarchy over my background (bigger high-res version) put it on a memory card and headed off to walmart and had them print me a 10 x 13!

I have to say Ive tried TONS of the gen software and Legacy is THE BEST (and user friendliest!)

Sweetie I think those photos are fabulous, and if you have kids, they may not appreciate them TODAY, but 20 years from now they will so adore them!

I have traced my Smiths (paternal Grandmothers side) back to the 1700s but my Browns, oi... They moved back and forth between 2 counties so many times when Kentucky (USA) was being FORMED that I have lost them. And SADLY Benjamin Brown is SUCH a common name! There are so many Ben Browns, and B Brown males in both the KY and TN census'. Im afraid I am just STUCK.

    woooo...
    I sure can ramble!
    Sorry!!!

I love those photos, would love to see more! I LOVE old black and whites. They are so much more "classy" I think, then what we see now a days.

*ETA: Im kin to Abe Lincolns WIFE!*
