    Default mh51 - Font Organiser???

OK ~ can anyone help me???

Is there a programme which would enable me to categorize my fonts (especially Dingbats) and view them while using photo editing programme??

At the moment I have pages & pages & pages of printouts of my fonts so that I can see at a glance what I’m looking for.

I have ‘Font Viewer’ and ‘The Font Thing’ but (unless I’m thick) they don’t seem to do what I want!!**!!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    hi mary

i use 'the font thing'.....i keep practically all my fonts in files on my e-drive...in that file i have subs files with dingbats, curlyfonts etc

when i want to use a font i just go through 'the font thing' choose the font and install it ....once ive finished using it i go back into 'the font thing' and uninstall it and it goes back into its file....easy huh took me a while to figure it out lol

I use the amp font viewer it does about the same thing as Fiona's I've not seen one that would let you put them in categories but would be interesting to see if there is one. I would love that. Anna

    Fiona,

Sounds like a good way to keep fonts under control. However, have one question - what happens when you open the scrapbook again to add another page, does it give you the statement that it cannot find the fonts you used on other pages?

    ............................

Great Fiona, now I understand it a little better & have even now created 'collections' & feel comfortable with that.

NOW ~~~ I will continue doing this and as my collection grows I'm a bit concerned.

Can I back it up so that the fonts will continue to relate to the collections??? Can't see how to do this.

Sorry for being such a numpty but if I can do a backup, I think 'I'm cooking on gas'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Makeyesup... What happened is that the font was probably installed only temporarily. That works if you're making an image and the text is part of the image. But if you're going to use the font for text in Max or other programs, you need to install it permanently to the Windows Font folder.

I have fount that the AMP Font Viewer is better at installing and managing fonts that the Font Thingy, but then, is a matter or preference.

Ah, yes, the bill is in the mail!
