Template download?

HI

I have a question. I just discovered the template downloads that people share. They are awesome. If I download one that is saved as a file it goes right to the template page- when I click add a page it is there for me to chose as a template. If the download is saved/posted as a thumbnail it is saved to my scrapbook freebie folder and opens as an embelishment just an image can only put pictures on top of it but not change it like a template. This happens even if I save it to programs/scrapbookmax/templates. What am I doing wrong?

If you are downloading a thumbnail, (*.jpg) then you can only add things on top of it or use it as an Embellishment. Look for a link that ends in .smt or .zip instead of saving the thumbnail. If you are downloading a template (*.smt) then it will install in the template folder and you can just drop in your photos and add text. (Some times items on the page will be locked. To unlock them, just right click on the item and click on Unlock.) You can also move items on the page around. If you are downloading embellishments (.smb / .png) they will be in your embellishment folder. They will usually have transparent backgrounds and you can easily resize them to fit your page.
