    Question Photoshop help plz

My fingers been in overdrive downloading things into Photoshop and trying to be soo smug organing it into kits, pages, ribbons, frames etc.

    *very pleased with herself look"

Now I go into photoshop and have a guess at what to do in my beginner way! How do I view the actual things I want as a picture rather than the file name and select them from the picture rather thn the file name as I hven't a clue by the name what it looks like.

I hope that makes sense, if it doesn't sorry for confusing you, I confuse myself!

    Default Viewing stored items

When you press open file in Photoshop, you get a window with just names of files. But if you click once on an item to highlight it and, sometimes, wait a bit, you will see what it looks like just below that. This is slow because you have to do it one at a time.

Therefore I keep My Computer (or Windows Explorer, whichever you prefer) open at the same time and set that view to Thumbnails (a choice in the menu) so I can see everything in that folder at once. That way I can just doubleclick in Photoshop on the file I want without waiting to see it in Photoshop.

    I hope this helps.

Wow, Nellie, I haven't been this confused since I ran away from home in 1903!

Ok, well, you can do as leaf suggested, but actually, anytime you use windows, and you click on "open" to select a file, you have the option to see all the files as pictures... Well, if they are pictures to begin with...

Here is an image to help. I hope this is what you were talking about. If not, forgive me for putting my two cents in.

Go to the folder containing the pictures. Now above the folder is a list of options like "folder, edit and view etc" Under the view options there is a option called "thumbnails" click on this and you will see all your icons as pictures.

    I hope this helps!
