Okay, so it took me a while for this one to think of all the texts and scribes, Like the way it finally turned out.
For those of you asking - yes, that is an almost 40 year old male who is getting help from his dad putting on skates. In his defence he spent the last 15 years living on an Island down south, so I guess he can be forgiven
My credit are in the gallery, and I am glad that the second part is coming on the 15th - I got in here just in time!

Love the page Tina... what font did you use for "Skates" & "Snowflakes" SBM has sooo many fonts, I haven't even begun to play with a third of them.. I usually always end up using the same olds (bookman old style, scrap casual, fine hand)

The snowflakes is chiller believe it or not with an outline. The skates, well, that is one of the very last ones on the list and shadowed. Love it. Just found it. My suggestion for page titles and stuff, scroll to the absolute bottom of the list and work your way up.......who knows what you will find

                SECOND STEP...

So I’m back with the 2nd step… We will continue to work with the text feature. This time you should use the RIBBON TEXT feature. I want you to write a text around a circle…

For those who aren’t very familiar with this option…

Select the menu Object -> Ribbon Text

                Type your text
Set the font, the character spacing…
Then select the Advanced tab and check this option: Connect endpoints
When you have set it. Click OK.

Your text will appear on your design space with 3 points… you should remove the second point to create a circle… Right click on the 2nd point then it will disappear and you’ll get a circle.

If you want to have the text along all the circle, increase the size of the font and/or increase the character spacing option…

You can resize the “circle”… select the text, press the shift key and with the mouse resize it…

SO NOW YOU KNOW HOW TO DO J

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO… Please make one layout with a minimum of 3 circle shapes… You can mix as you want: 1 photo and 2 papers… 2 photos and 1 paper… but you should have a minimum of 1 photo in one circle shape… Then I want you to write a text around one of the circle shapes… I want to you to take advantage of all the great text features of SBM… so you can for instance fill the text with an image, add a shadow, add an outline…

Try to keep about 33% of free space in your page. It’s not because we have a large page that we should fill it at 100% J What I mean is that a page with “blank” space allow to fix the eyes on the main point of the page... and I like pages with "blank" spaces... The result is nice.

Once again work on the winter theme… and try to use the same kit as before.

Here is an example of page... I know that it isn't exactly the theme I ask you :-)

                Promo_SweetSummertime - Template16_P1.jpg

If you pay attention on this page I have take benefit of the text features... ribbon text, caption text... and I have also played with different fonts... Note that the digit 5 isn't an alpha... made with the caption text...

So now you can review your course :-) and then practice.

                Have a nice week-end!!!!

                Sandrine

                        Hi!
When I have defined the challenge I thought to you tin tin... And I thought you could be disappointed if I wouldn't add circles in my challenge :-)
And with the ribbon text exercise, circles are perfect!
Now looking for seeing your page.
