    Default Christmases Long Ago

    Hi

I made this layout using my own QP and I have to say I was rather pleased with the effect!

I really wanted to scrap this photo but it really wasn't going to work in those landscape apertures! I thought it might look nice if I slid it behind two panes and I found I had achieved an illusion of myself waving through a window! I deliberately kept the French windows in the shot, although I could have moved them out. But it emphasised the window theme and it also provided some context to the picture - this was our family home in Rayner's Lane.

I put the date stamp under the tree because people always want to know 'when was this?' I guess my clothes also make it pretty obvious that it was in the late 50s. In those days, little girls really didn't wear trousers, well certainly not in England!

Heh heh! Yes Mary, they were and they were so cosy! I just loved them! I guess we grew up around the same time!
