How to create QPs as PNG files with Scrapbook MAX?

Hello!

I'm interesting to know how to create QPs as PNG files with Scrapbook MAX!

OK. I know that I shouldn't you Scrapbook MAX! elements/papers for the QP.

But if I do the layout with Scrapbook MAX! and use elements/papers that are my own items I can. But my question is how to create transparency areas required for the QP? (well the area where you'll place the photos).

I've never tried to make a QP myself, sorry. I'd be interested in the answer though. I just tested it by pinning and locking everything down , exporting as a template, marking remove photos, unchecking the Ungroup and Unpin box, opening the template back up, which gave me the gray photoboxes, saving as a PNG file, closing and opening the PNG file. Everything worked great except the photo area. The gray boxes were there, but they were no longer photo boxes and I could not send my photos back. I got real close. I
am sure the designers or the more experienced folks can offer assistance.

At the moment the only solution I would see would be to use the eraser... but I'm afraid it won't give a *perfect* result... Let's see. I'll make a try and let you know...

So that's one of the reason why I suggest the "punching" feature.... so you could then have transparent areas... perfect to place photos :-)

The only way I could do it was

1. Bring your BG in as photo.
2. Arrangeyour elements, photos and papers.
3. Group everything
4. Save as ping
5. Add new page
6. Bring in png image, stretch to fit
7. Using the eraser , erase pictures.
N.B. I didn't add any embelleshments around pictures - it makes erasing easier.
8.Add more embellishments if you wish especially around picture area.
9. Group everything again and save as png image.
Now you can bring this in stretch to fit page and picture under neath.

you will need another graphics program to do this

make your page in scrapbook max, put white or black paperscrap into your photo placement area > publish the page

take the published page into PSP, Adobe, Gimp or which ever graphics program you use, add a transparent layer and make this the background > go to the page layer and use the magic wand to delete the photo area > publish page as a png

You could also try using an image that is fully transparent for the empty parts -- in other words, make a PNG file where the entire alpha channel is 0 (transparent). Then use that as the placeholder. It might be a bit tricky to work with though...you would only be able to select it using Tab and shift+Tab to cycle through the objects on the page, or maybe also by drag+selecting.

I have plenty of solutions to try!!! Great! I will try all of them. And I will let you know my feedbacks.

I would prefer to use a 100% Scrapbook MAX solution :-)

Well, I do believe that the use of the eraser for the creation of customized shapes could be the solution :-)
