    Tia,
When you open your scrapbookmax program and select new layout and name it what you want.
Go to Background 3rd icon that look like a Page (on the toolbar)
You will have to browse and go to the folder you created on your desktop
When you get that, and want to add a embellishment, Click on the Flower, then on the bottom left corner is a browse button, click that and go to your folder you created and find the embellishment you want.

When you open any of the items on the toolbar, embellishments, Scrap paper, and background, you can always click browse and find anything you want, anywhere on your Computer.

I hope this Helps, if not PLEASE ask more Questions, we are all here to Help each other.

I normally drag and drop. I open the folder I want to get my papers, embelishments, ect. from and drag each item I want to use into scrapbook max from the folder I have open.

I keep all the folders/files on my external hard drive. When I want to use something, I have my Windows Explorer open at the folder and then just drag and drop. I feel it is much easier than using the SBM buttons for importing items.

Most of the layouts we provide for you here can be sent right into your program...If the link says it is an .smt file. You click it, and use the open option. when you open it, it will download right into your program....((HUGS))
