PDF file?

I am trying to make a book for a memorial fund raiser. I wanted to add the PDF flyer to the first page. When I try to insert it, it doesn't show up?
Any ideas how?
Please use very basic terms. This digital stuff makes my head hurt!

As far as I know sweetie, the program does not support .pdf files...It pulls my .pdf files in as a .jpeg...
