Legal Issues with copying purchased items

I could use some legal advice. I am scanning a purchased b-day banner with a dinosaur theme to use in my g-son's layout. I would like to share the finished banner with the group, but not sure it is legal. I know I can show the finished page in the gallery, but can I share the banner in the Embellishment section? It definitely will be smaller in size than the original.

Not unless you get permission from the original designer, Grannywin! Even if you alter the banner, it is still the property of the designer.
