How do I turn a page into a Grayscale Mask?

Is there any way I can turn my finished pages into a gray mask that I can double click on the "scrap" and choose my own paper choice? OR....do I have to create it using shapes that I've saved "made" or came w/ my SM software and somehow publish it?

to do this you will have to click on each piece of paperscrap / background and change to grey/black/white plain paperscraps/backgrounds

for embellishments you can click on them and change them into greyscale in the advanced tools or use shapes to make the embellishments from grey/black/white paperscraps

      hope that helps
