Hey all you challenge lovers! This month we get a challenge from the lovely Fiona!!

and you all thought you were getting away from me this week mwhahaha

I've split this months challenge into 4 parts today i'll put up part one, part 2 next week etc...ya get the drift

PART ONE (the easy bit lol)

you have probably noticed there are tons of scrapbook sketch sites around on the net, but sketches dont work in layers so what i would like you to do this week is find a sketch you like (or several if you feel up to it) and make a layered template from the sketch (sounds easy huh)

attached are the images of two sketches i found and the images & templates i made with them

once you have made your sketches into templates you will need to export them, upload the page image the sketch image and the template to this thread

you will need these templates for part 2 of this challenge

Part One Rules:

1) choose a sketch (or draw your own, scan and upload)
2) make a layered template (SMT) of the sketch
3) upload the sketch image, the SMT & image of your template to this thread


Hints & Tips:
- import the sketch image into max via the embellishment or photo icons (both work) stretch the sketch to fit page.
- Starting with the back most furthest placed embellishment / paper.
- place your version of the embellishments / papers over the sketch, then bring the sketch image forward.
- once general layout is completed delete sketch image, decorate page as preferred (remember this is a sketch so you only really need to place papers, photo areas and a general placement of embellishments)
- once page is complete publish image at web/email size, then export page as a template via file> export > ok
- to upload the SMT (template file) click on Manage Attachments below the reply box in this thread > Browse > go to My documents > Scrapbook Max > Templates > your smt will be in this file under whatever name you gave it > Once the file has uploaded close the pop up box and it will attach the file to your post

Ok I get the main gist of part one. But do you want us to use our own papers/embellishments so that we can share them? Or maybe ones from freebies collected here at SBM?
Also I assume we need to find sketches that aren't copyrighted right? And if they aren't we will still need to credit the creator of the sketch. yeah? LOL.

Just thought of another question. If we create some of our own shapes for paper and use those in the template, will that download into the shapes gallery for those who download the template? Or should we attach those seperately?

just make them in black white and grey if you dont want to make your own

some people may be ok with you using them, i am for sure

sketches in general are not copyrighted as a rule as they are just a guideline to help you make your own pages but some designers of them require credits

And if they aren't we will still need to credit the creator of the sketch

the shapes wont change in the template itself but also wont be avaliable for use via the shapes gallery so if you want to give them with the templates so others can use them then yes upload them

This really sounds fun...WOW...ok I have one question...are we to show the sketch we found as well? Or just place our sketch here and the layout we did from it? Maybe a dumb question...lol...but look who we are talking too...lmbo!

I think I got it this time. My template was too large so I'm trying a zip file.
