    Default Help with shapes

I am having problems with some shapes that I have. I use them with my papers and they look fine on the pages, but then when I go to publish my pages, all my shapes (such as flowers, stars, etc.) either turn into plain old squares and rectangles, or look like the shape but with a weird looking see-through area around the shape. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions? It doesn't seem to happen to every page I do, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

    Thanks,
    Marie

    Hello!

Can you tell me exactly what steps you are taking to add shapes?

Are you referring to the shapes that are included with Scrapbook MAX! software, or are they from another source?

After you add a shape, are you saving your most recent changes before publishing?

With a bit more information, we may be able to help you track what's going on!

I believe they are shapes that are from other sources. I bring in my paper, choose custom shape, and then move it to where I want it to go. It looks fine until I publish the pages and then everything gets all messed up.

    Question Problem posting

    Hi,

Was wondering what the problem may be. I'm trying to post my scrapbook page I just made using Scrapbook Max onto my facebook page. It says it has uploaded successfully but when I go to look the page does not show. Is it because it's the trial version that I can't upload my page? Help!

I went back through this morning to double check all the shapes that won't publish correctly. They were all from other sources. The ones that wouldn't publish correctly were flower shapes, torn papers, torn paper hearts, and torn paper circles. I can replace most of these with a shape directly from scrapbookmax, but I don't see any torn paper hearts. Any suggestions?

I hate to continue wasting my money buying embellishments that won't work with the program. Sometimes they will work, and other ones seem to not work.

Are the shape filenames JPG or PNG? That makes a difference sometimes but not always. Rarely when I publish my pages I lose the shape and have a ghost image of the full scrap. And I always forget which type works the best without any problems < I think it is JPG> but not 100% sure.

If it is a PNG file, try this. Open the PNG file and save or export as JPG file type. Then try to use the JPG as the shape.

If it is a JPG file type, open the file and save or export as a PNG file.

Thanks. I will try that tomorrow morning. I think the ones I have are png files.

The ones I purchased are png files, but so are the ones that come with the scrapbookmax program!

I tried converting the png files to jpg, but I keep getting a message saying that the transparency part will be discarded if I save. I did save anyway and tried to use it, but I just get a weird shaped box instead of the heart shape I wanted.

You must be using the term shape different than I was thinking. If you add a piece of paper or a scrap to your page, then you use a custom shape to "cut out" from the paper the shape of your choice. For example, pick red construction paper, then use a custom shape of a heart and it cuts the heart out of the red paper. A shape used in this way will cut away the solid black, leave as the actual shape white color and various shades of gray will have varied levels of transparency.

    Hope this helps.
