    Default jpeg to png

    good day!

this is my first post! i am just starting to do scrapbooking, and as of now, i know i will enjoy doing it... and please bear with me, i will have a lots of questions in the coming days.

i read carefully the tutorial on how to convert jpeg to png, and make the background transparent. i followed all the steps, but the white background still shows... what will i do?

and also, i am confused with brads, is it the same as buttons?

    thanks in advance!

    Hi there and welcome!
What software are you using to convert the jpeg to png? I use Paint Shop Pro XI. When you are done removing the background you will have to save it in png format. PSP has a png optimizer which lets me save it with the right settings. As far as brads or buttons I am still learning how to make them. I finally bought some CU(commercial use) buttons that were in greyscale so I can make them any color or pattern I want...If you have anymore questions feel free to PM me.

All depends on what program you are using but it's not possible in Scrapbook Max Software.

Please advice so we can help you further. Thanks

    HI

There are alot of different ways to do this in photoshop. Here is a basic way to get you going.

    1. open image
    2. double click on image in the layers area so it isn't the background layer anymore
    3. use your erasor to remove or sometimes magic erasor - all depends on your image - whether it as a single background colour or not. Remember to size your erasor to a large size for big parts and then get smaller as you get closer to what your want to keep.
    4. trim away the excess not required
    5. save as png and name.

this is very basic explaination - be sure to zoom in to 100 % for better results.
Under the erased area it will turn to a grey check.

    Hope this helps some.
    Regards
