Can you mat pictures?

I'm new to digital scrapbooking. I wanted to play around with it. I love my traditional pages.

Earlier today I was playing around with a page and I couldn't mat the pictures. It just put the scrap of paper over the picture not under. Was I doing it wrong? Any tips? Thanks

I'm using the scrapbook max software itself.

When you have SBM open, at the top in the toolbar there is a set of 4 arrows...the one on the right with the arrow pointing down will send your mat to the back...

hahah I knew you wouldn't. Its just usually I cant follow directions well. haha
