Here's mine....Lancaster, CA...just one photo but it includes thousands of poppies! We also have an Astronaut Walk of Fame, National Soccer Center, Jet Hawks (Class A team for the Houston Astros), and lots of pretty neat people (around 132, 000). We also have 4 seasons (and we're only about 60 miles north of Los Angeles!).

Naugle, I have a friend that lives in Nampa, just outside of Boise!

This is a tiny village very near me. It's been known by several names over the centuries including Wizard Clip. It's said to have been haunted but a priest held mass and the strange happenings stopped. In gratitude the Catholic Church had property deeded to them which included the grave of the Unknown Stranger. This grave is situated along a path that winds through the woods and we visited it today so we could show you a little bit of the area around where I live. Nearly every home in the village has one of these triangular signs marking the occurences of the wizard clip. The funniest occurance the stories mention is that the heads of chickens would suddenly fall off. I can't help but laugh at this one, just trying to picture heads popping off all over town. Even the towns sign shows the "wizard" sitting in the corner using his shears and the half-moon shape that was cut into everything.

In case I go missing call Moonlightpearl, Granny, twpclerk or Smile! Then have them call Crops because we're probably together at the Yoville Races!

These are all great so far. I haven't had a chance to do it. I will be leaving in a few days on vacation, been getting ready for that. If I don't get to it before I leave, I will try when I get back.

Well, we originally were heading up to Lake Superior again, but the weather is calling for rain most of the time we were to be there, so now we think we are heading for the Bar Harbor Maine area. It will be a short visit, mostly driving since we only have a week to travel. We are getting so we don't like to leave the Mom's for long. Ron's sister is coming while we are gone, just in case something would happen. It puts our minds at ease a little, but we will only travel while she is here. My mom is always falling and needs help to get up. She has been lucky so far that she hasn't done more than bruise herself. Of course she continues to do things she shouldn't do! I guess I can't blame her. I wouldn't like to just sit around all day. Ron's mom has a pace maker and has little choking episodes if she isn't careful when she eats. So our little trips have gotten shorter (time wise) and not as often. We are the only ones here for both of them. I have one sister in Minnesota and one in Florida. Ron's sister lives in the Boston area. So it is just us.

Sorry, my answer got too long!

We live in the rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio and my DH and I both grew up in the country. We love the outdoors and could never imagine living in town. The deer picture was taken down the road about a half mile and the rainbow picture was taken right outside our front door. The other two were taken in Salt Fork State Park on a hike and kayak day we all enjoyed when the children were home. Those two places are probably no more than 5 miles from our home.

                Happy Scrappin'! Susie

I just brought the park up on the internet. It looks like a great park, my hubby and I will have to try that one for something different. We like to go to Hocking Hills periodically, so this would be a change. We live in town, but we like to take drives in the country side all the time! Thanks for the info and great layout!

Wow, you guys are making such great pages using the mini-kit! And your areas of the country are so interesting!

Hey, all you folks out of the states, c'mon! We wanna see layouts made by you about where YOU live!

Note to all: It will probably be next week before I come back and check what everyone has done. Hubby has ACL surgery on Oct. 9 for his right knee... he had that total hip replacement back in May, ya know? Well, a few weeks later he got his feet tangled in his walker and, to save the hip, he made himself fall the other way. Unfortunately, that tore up his knee 'cause he landed smack on it... so he's been in pain all this time waiting for the okay (from medicaid, ugh) for the surgery. I will be busy the next few days with all of this and being with him at the hospital, then getting him situated at home. But I'll be back next week to catch up and see what ya'll have done!

Here is my entry. I love in South Dakota and part of what I love about living here is the fabulous growing season, wide open spaces and fertile land. The picture is a part of my garden. Yes, it's HUGE. Anyone need any tomatoes?
