Shapes?

I see these posted a lot. Can someone tell me what they are/how you use them? I am not sure...

Well, you can use shapes on photos or papers to give them a different edge. Here is a sample. The thumbnail on the left is the shape.

After you bring a photo into SBM

Right click on the photo
Click on properties
Click in the box that says custom shapes.

(You should have some that came with SBM, but there have been tons of free shapes given in the sharing corner... embellishments).

After you select a shape, click OK and your photo should now have the shape that you selected. If your photo is oblong, it will look different than if it were square, so you may want to crop your photo first. That's all there is to it. (Hope I didn't leave anything out)

There are also Mask Templates which is for a whole layout. I will leave that to someone else.

To save a shape that has been shared, you save it to:

Program files/Scrapbook Max/Gallery/Images/Shapes

I made files with the designer/persons name that gave the shape so I know who to credit. (within the Shapes folder)
