Weekly Challenge 36 _ Olympic Fever

The Olympics started this weekend so i thought i'd run an Olympic Themed challenge

the challenge this week is to use the colours of YOUR country to scrap a page (if you or your family are from more than one place or have moved countries you can scrap more pages )

    Rules:

    1) Scrap one or more pages using YOUR countries team colours

    2) any theme is allowed but sports themes would be great

    3) you may like to use your teams mascot in the page, the olympic rings or the olympic motto: Citius Altius Fortius - Faster, Higher, Stronger.

    4) all pages to be in by Sunday 17th August

Great layouts so far; looks like using the olympic rings as frames is a popular concept here!

Olympic swimming has always had special meaning for me since I used to be a USS Certified Swim Meet Referee and have met many olympians, including Dara Torres before she was an olympian. My daughter was ranked nationally and attended Olympic Trials.

This relay was almost magical to watch with Jason Lezac posting the fastest ever relay time to make up half a second lead from the world record holder. They smashed the existing world record by 4 seconds with a new time of 3:08.24!

Oh yea! That was a great relay! And I'd say that even if it wasn't my team that won. To see him pull ahead at the last minute lik that was amazing! Great layout! Love the pool background.

I chose this event when I saw these pictures online because when I was around 12 or so, I got to go with my Dad to the Ohio State Trapshoot in Vandalia, Ohio. It was just Dad and me and I thought that was soooo cool. Well, by the end of the day, Dad had won the 16 yard event, the Handicap Event and that gave him High-Over-All for the day. He was only permitted to take home one Silver Tray and he said, "Come up here Suze, you pick out the one we get!" WOW! I felt 10 feet tall that day! What a nice memory, even though I can't see the screen right now because of the tears rolling down my face!!
Sure do miss him. Memories, they sure are great! Thanks for letting me share with you all!

I used MommaBird's Shapes and Olympic Rings, and the kit Home of the Brave by SandeKrieger_2Peas.

                              Happy Scrappin'! Susie
