Opa Devyn and Xena

I made this with Moonbeam's (Deanne Gow-Smith) kit "Boys n bugs"
I took out all the bugs for this layout, because I am working on my dog Xena's memory book. But I loved the bright color and it will go very will with all differerent themes. The only thing I added was the stitching.

This is lovely marion. You certainly know how to awaken memories. I haven't heard a grandad being called Opa, since I was a child. Do you by any chance have some dutch or german ancestry there?

Vanessa, I was born and raised in the Netherlands.
So I just thought being Oma and Opa would neat and it differenciates us from the other Grandparents.

Me, I am a bit of a pavement special. When I grew up, my grandparents on my mother's side were dutch and german respectively and my grandparents on my father's side were Irish but I didn't know them. I grew up with a mix of both german and dutch, when with my grandparents, but english at home. Haven't spoken either for about 30 years, but I can still at a push read German, dutch and flemish. Helpful on some of the tutorial sites I visit.

Very nice Marion, my kids call my neighbours oma and opa, opa because I lost my father and he is a grandfather to them. And she is such a nice lady born in Holland.
