    Default Please Help - Emergency

I went into the scrapbook max program tonight and went to open a scrapbook to work on one of my saved scrapbooks. They are all gone!!!! I had one of my wedding, my honeymoon, my son, my pets, so many, and they are all gone. I went to look in my scrapbook max folder in my documents and I can't find the folder that says "projects."? Does anyone know what may have happened?

Hi Trisha so sorry to hear that, hope someone will come to your rescue I am clueless about that. That is why I always back up everything because my old pc crash once and I lost everything. It would be a good idea if you back up your projects or finished ones on cd for your peace of mind.Hope it is still somewhere on your pc.hugs.

Do a search for the word projects? Maybe it got moved by accident and that should find it. With drag and drop sometimes that is far too easy.

Trying to help with questions. I don't want to insult or confuse but are you sure you are looking in the correct location. It is not in the c:\program files\scrapbook max! folder. It is in "c:\documents and settings\<user name>\documents\scrapbook max!\projects" for XP <hope I remembered that path correctly> or "c:\users\<user name>\documents\Scrapbook Max!\projects" for Vista. Usually Vista and XP will have a My Documents shortcut on the desktop, go to that, then Scrapbook Max! and then projects.

There is one other option that is too scarey to think about that I hope you didn't do by accident. It is far too easy to overwrite an existing scrapbook when you create a new one if you did not give the first scrapbook a different name from "my scrapbook" <the default name>. You can overwrite your scrapbook very quickly. As a newbie my sister did this. It you don't give a new name or different name it will ask you if you are sure but as a newbie if you don't understand or realize what you are doing or what it is asking <the mindless click to get rid of a window> it is very dangerous and too easy to overwrite all your work.

Trisha, double click on the recycle bin on your desk top, and see if it got there by mistake. If it did, just click on it once, then click restore on the menu to the left.

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!! I FOUND THEM!!! I searched on projects like Kpierce said and I found them. They had gotten moved somehow from the SBM folder. I moved them back and they are there. I am so happy. I was so upset because I had done so much work. I was crying and my little 6 year old sweet son just hugged me and said Mommy you can do them again. Now, when he wakes tomorrow I can tell him we found them. Thanks so so much. Moonlightpearl, I will take your suggestion and BACKUP!

    Trisha,

This is a great news. Is better to 'back up ' your work regularly to prevent the 'worst' happen. Take care.

Woohoo Trisha, happy for you, when you get so scared and think you lost your work you don't want to feel that anymore!
