it's pretty expensive... I remember the time (not so long ago) when filling my tank cost me only 20 $ !! Now with 20$, I don't even get half a tank. Pathetic.
Don't we have oil in Aberta ??? Why don't we (citizens of Canada) get a better price on our own products ??? I just don't get government...

                          I'm in Alberta.

Like I say, it costs 8 million thousand dollars here. As far as I know none of the things we mass produce here are any cheaper for us than elsewhere, i.e. oil, beef, mullets, etc. I've read that mullets are like 5 cents each in Peru...

Probably if we moved to Switzerland we'd finally be able to get a decent price on some Canadian goods.

                          Und ze chocolate!

P.S. Desmond doesn't "on any given day" also mean like July 3rd, 1972? Wasn't gas was like a nickel per barrel back then?

Lets put all of these prices on the same scale US$ / Gallon:

                            Des Winnipeg: 3.65 / Gal
Jezza (Sydney, Australia): 4.71 / Gal
Jen Seattle, WA: 3.21 / Gal
                            KristyAnn Ontario: 3.40 / Gal
Rhoda Texarkana, TX: 2.79 / Gal
Bee: England: England uk, 6.95 / Gal
Corey Alberta: 8 million thousand dollars

So to put it all in perspective, don't drive an SUV in England!!! Also Texas has cheap gas

                            Adam.

I heard on CBC radio that Alberta tries to keep the price of gas artifically higher than it needs to be. The higher the price of gas, the better it is for Alberta. Supposedly the oil sands up in Fort McMurray really start to become economically attractive compared to drilling when the price of crude is as high as it is now.

I remember just ten years ago thinking 49 cents a liter was a lot, and people were talking about how big of a deal it would be if it passed 50 cents.

One thing I don't understand is why so many stations these days offer a discount off their posted rate..."3.5 cents off at the pump" sort of things. Why not just put 1.04 on the sign instead of 1.07? Boggles.

Ah well...all the more reason to bike to work!
