The Groove's September 2008 Freebie Challenge

Welcome to The Groove's Monthly Freebie Challenge!

Hello from The Groove, Scrapbook MAX!'s *free* monthly newsletter.

Each month, a featured designer will offer a great freebie mini-kit and issue a challenge based on that kit.

All you need to do is download the freebie, create a layout that steps up to the challenge, upload it to your gallery, and post a link to your layout in a reply to this thread!

There's MORE! Everyone gets the freebie, and a lucky, random participant will also receive an official Scrapbook MAX! mousepad. WOO-HOO!

Details about this month's freebie and challenge are below!

    The “Freebie” Part!

Steve Russell has generously supplied a freebie collection to all our Groove readers - just download the .zip file attached. You can "drag and drop" the elements into your challenge layouts!

    The “Challenge” Part!

Steve has issued this challenge based on his freebie collection:
    • Using at least 4 items from the mini kit, create a "masculine" layout that showcases your favorite guy (husband, son, friend or whatever)
    • You can add whatever additional elements or papers of your choice except...
    • they must be "masculine"... no flowers, ribbons or bows are allowed!
    • Have fun!!

    * * * *

Be sure to check out the September 2008 issue of The Groove! You'll find discounts, school scrapbook inspiration, and even an amazing coupon for 20% off the brand new Scrapbook MAX! School Edition!

    Happy Scrapping!

I wish I could use these tonight, but tomorrow is an early work day and my bed is calling my name. Just wanted to say thanks for the "manly clipart".

        Enjoy the Challenge

        Hey Kids...

I've been really busy, but managed to squeeze in a challenge at Karen's request... I thought it might be something different than flower, ribbons and bows... (I can hear Deanne cursing my name now and Fiona thinks I'm a meanie... LOL)

I will check in when I can , but I 'm getting ready to get on a plane in about 6 hours and I'll be out of town for a week

Enjoy the challenge and have some fun with it!

          Here is mine

I guess I'll go first. This was pretty fun. I let my son tell me what kind of "shop stuff" needed to go on the shelves. My husband now wants me to print this out to hang in his workshop, =)

Everything is from Steve's mini-kit except the bobber, it was from NanaC and I made my own word art using the chipboard piece from Steve's kit.

                        Happy Scrappin'! Susie

Here's my page - I love the manly elements! I had fun! I used the "wave slice" feature to curve the barbed wire....
