Tweety,
When you open a Picture, Embellishment. Scrap Paper, or even a Background, there is a slide bar for transparency.
Kaye is asking you to Find a Plain background add a few Objects (Leaves or Flowers :)), dupilcate background, Darken or lighten, next erase some areas, then make it tranparent and apply it to the original. You will have created a new Background.
Ok, I hope I didn't confuse you, because I think I confused myself :)
Maybe someone else can try to explain this, and do a better job!
I been fishing all Day and I think my brain gotta sun burn!!

Like what Kimmy said Tweety, click on an embie to use it and double click on it again to get the embellishment properties box up, there you will see the transparency bar.
Great job on yor pages fonzy, nice use of transparent items then used again in full colour mode.

Kimmy - so nice to see some fishing photos. You spoke often in the forum but when I looked I couldn't see any in the gallery. Thanks for scrapping a page or two. Really helps I think to get to know you better. Hugs.
