The Groove July 2010 Monthly Freebie Challenge

Welcome to The Groove's Monthly Freebie Challenge!

Hello from The Groove, Scrapbook MAX!'s *free* monthly newsletter!

Each month, a featured designer offers a great freebie mini-kit and issues a challenge based on that kit.

All you need to do is download the freebie, save it, and double-click on it to import the elements into Scrapbook MAX!. Then, create a layout that steps up to the challenge, upload it to the Groove Newsletter Challenges gallery and post a link to your layout in a reply to this thread!

Details about this month's freebie and challenge are below!

This month, designer Deanne Gow-Smith has shared an adorable freebie kit that she is inviting you to "crop creatively" and make a layout!

    The Challenge:

    Here's Deanne's challenge:

    Experiment with cropping embellishments!

    * No embellishment is to be used "Whole"
    * "Crop" your embellishments and use them in a layout in their cropped form.

NOTE: The backgrounds will import to Page >Settings in Scrapbook MAX!. Go there, then click on Background Image and Select to navigate to the freebie background folder. Embellishments will import to Object > Embellishments.

Well guys... here's some more elements to play with for the challenge. When I tried to do it with the limited amount in the original kit it was pretty boring so I thought i would make up heaps more items so that you can have plenty to choose from when cropping. hope the extra goodies helps.
stay tuned for some more that I will upload

Heres my effort. Just an example of cropping . Every single thing on this page is cropped. nothing is complete as it was. Evertything is from the kit you can download. It's an example of how you can make things look entirely different with the crop feature in SBM. You can re- use elements you have used previously but make them look different. Sometime quite unrecognisable from the origianl. You can stretch things too ( as far as the size and quality will allow you) e.g. the Gold bars across my page are cropped from the little gold embie frame with flowers on it.
Have fun, and i cant wait to see your work!!!

Here is mine - I've probably not cropped as much as I should have for the requirements. Hope you like what I've done anyway. Hugs

Note: some recolouring and a star shape used.
