Hi Angela. No such thing as a stupid question. Please feel free to ask anything here, no question is too big or too small. :)
A zip file is a special type of file known as a compressed archive. To get at the goodies inside you must "unzip" the zip file. Try this first, right click on the file and see if you have an option in your right click menu for "extract" or "unzip". That will be the ticket. Generally you can right click on zip files and choose "Extract to folder..." to unzip. Once you have unzipped the file you will be left with a normal folder which contains the contents of the zip file, in this case probably images, etc. Those unzipped files can be easily added to your Scrapbook MAX! projects.
Give that a shot and if you are still unable to unzip the file let me know and I'll give you a more detailed post on how to do it.
Hope that helps. :)

OK so I got the file unzipped and now the problem is everything is on the same page and i dont know how to seperate each thing into its own file so I can use just one of the objects...... I think paper scrapping might be better for me...........weeping...sob...sob.. (lol) do I need a program to seperate each object?

Hi. Ok glad you got it unzipped, that's a start. I'm not 100% sure what you mean now though. Are you saying that the unzipped folder contained a single image file which is a montage of multiple elements which you had anticipated would all be separate image files?
If so, then what is the file extension for this image? (i.e. ".jpg" or ".png" or ".psd" or whatever)
If not then please elaborate on what you have and what you'd like to do with it and we'll go from there. In general the more details you post with your questions, the easier it is to offer you some meaningful assistance.
As for the paper scrapping I encourage you to do both. Scrapbook MAX! doesn't replace paper scrapping, it enhances it. :)

Yes ...... a montage of multiple elements on the same page I figured that they would be seperate so that you could use just one of them . I dont know how to attach a file to here or i would show you what I got when I unzipped.... I dont see a file extention on the file. It just says fiberstrands. no file size or anything else, you know what I think..... I think I just might be a goof ball...... Looks like I downloaded a file to print not to use digitally.....sometimes I can be really dizzy....lol. Sorry for the ding-bat moment. Thanks for the help.
Can you suggest a good program to creat embelishments? That is if you dont mind.
Oh I still paper scrap..this is just a great addition to it and I just dont have to store as much paper anymore.....YEAH ME!!!!!
Thanks Again and God Bless

Hi. The file extension will be the key here, if you right click on the file and choose "properties" you will see that. Some formats are "multi layer" and can be separated, some aren't.
For creating embellishments there are many choices. Paint Shop might be a good match for you:

There are also many good free editors including the paint program built into Windows. This is a good place to check out some of the top free software:

Always a pleasure. I can guarantee you that it's well within your reach to make embellishments, templates, etc. Just stick with it and take it one step at a time, and before you know it you'll be making all sorts of amazing stuff. The main thing is to have fun with it. It's like a curve, some things are a little tricky to learn at first but it just gets easier and easier as you go. :)

Hi. You should have no problem bringing jpeg files into Scrapbook MAX!. Which method are you using to add these jpegs and what error are you getting when you try to do so?

i tried to create a new scrapbook and then i go to import and then to the file, i opened the file and tried to import it and it says "this is not valid scrapbook max! template or gallery file" that one i just tried to open was a png file and it wouldnt open either.
What am I doing wrong?

You are trying to open an image as a template. Just add the jpegs the same way you would a photo and you'll be fine. :)
