Im a stickler for tradition im afraid :rolleyes: mine will go up on the 12th and down again on the 6th Jan.
Mind if my lovely husband has his way, we will be flying of somewhere hot on Boxing Day so wont even bother with a tree :eek:
I am in two minds though, I always think Cristmas is for familys, being together with all you hold dear, I am so far away from my own family, so feel its important to spend it with my husbands family who are fantastic.
Yet I have been through so much these last 6 months that somewhere hot would do me the world of good.

Here is my tree last year:)If you notice my ceiling yep it is lilac in color and the burgandy walls took 10 coats of sheer agony but it looks so pretty.I did not like this tree last year.

I don't have a tree this year, but I can post the one I helped decorate for our church. It is beautiful. Everyone in the church brought in many different types and colors of angels.

Sue, I had to share the beer bottle tree with my son. I am sure that would look very nice in his new house. What happens when the dog knocks it over?

Here's my Christmas Tree girls. I bought the snowman tree topper about 4 years ago, and I think it is soo cute.

I used Wolvsies ribbon and Merry Christmas tags, and I used Crops snowflakes. The snowman in the background was made by a friend of mine last year. It was also really cute and about 7 feet tall.

Love everyone's trees so far. I have my tree up and the lights are on. I did that last night. I will be decorating it today. Have to go hop in the shower now I can take my gift to the post office! Then I will come back and work on the tree. Also have to go get my hair done today, so I probably won't get a layout done until tomorrow.

PKDoll, LOVE that snowman topper. Where ever did you get it? Loving this thread, enjoying the different trees, getting some good ideas. I was thinking of changing my tree this year. I've used the same ornaments every year for the last 25 years. Most of them were given to me by my mother-in-law from her's and her mother's tree. Then she started every year letting her grandchildren pick an ornament from her tree to keep. I saved my daughters' and gave them back to them to start their own trees. I think this is a wonderful tradition but my ornaments mean too much to me to think of giving them away. My grandchildren will just have to buy their own or wait until I die. Hmmm.... I was thinking of changing my tree but now that I think of all my antique ornaments I believe I'd miss them too much. Oh dear......I just remembered my 3 youngest grandchildren are living with me for now. They are 1,2 & 3 years old and into everything......I might just use the lights alone this year.........Hmmmmm.......Wonder how many pieces of popcorn I could get on a string before they ate them all....

Love, Love, all the wonderful trees and layouts! I had the perfect excuse to get it up...a snowstorm on Sat. But my son had the key with him at a slumber party. Now My garage is iced shut Yikes!!! hope to get to it this week. Snow forecast again tomorrow and again this weekend. hhmmmm Lovely weather to scrap though! hahahaha.

Here is mine. I use clear lights and usually put caps on them in different colors. This year I decided to leave the caps off and go with the clear for a change.

Well we have always put ours up on thanksgiving I let the kids do it then change it to suet me. but this year after hearing about the led dust from the plastic trees I would not let the grandkids put it up. so I don't have one . may go but a real tree or something I can replant. don't know yet. To tell the truth I'm not missing it. I also don't thank I wont lights, the electric is high as it is .

They used their toys as ornaments. It's been redecorated a number of times. They take their toys off and play with them and then put them back somewhere else but it always looks cute! I'm glad I let them do it!

My tree wasn't very pretty either cause my optic lights went out and we were unable to fix it! The funny part was that we didn't have ONE good pic either.......so, I pieced several pics together (crop, cut and paste), which allowed me to create One descent pic.....lol Don't you just love this digital stuff??? Now, after the first of the year, I plan to learn how to EXTRACT subjects and change the backgrounds!

I already completed and ordered our Shutterfly 8x8 memory book of our first Christmas.

Girls she is full of boloni. Her tree and decorations were beautiful. I should have taken a picture of it and put it on here. Its the fun and love we put into the tree that is the real beauty. Most of our ornaments tell's us a story or brings back a wonderful meaning. Like for me this year, one memory will be of a certain" flying saucer" and lots of crazy, wonderful friends giving me advice in standing my tree up....lol....So don't forget to hug your tree before you put it away until next year. ........Smile....xoxo
