Ok everyone.... Granny has a REALLY JUICY story that she won't tell us. It is something about how she found out that she was allergic to chocolate!!! How terrible to find out that you can't have chocolate!!

The catch is she refuses to tell us all this story unless we get a 100 people to say they want to hear it.... so if you have EVER POSTED before.... POST NOW!!!!! This is an official petition to hear Granny's great story!!!

Please help our worthy cause!!!!
Sincerely..... dead fish in the water when granny reads this,
Tina

C'mon, Granny! Might as well give them the lowdown 'cause you know they ain't a-gonna quite until they know, LOL! I, too, cannot have chocolate...makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Don't like the taste, don't like the texture, don't like the way it makes me feel. Ugh, yuck, bleah! Surprise, surprise, you guys -- two people in the world who can't have, won't have, and don't want that icky brown stuff!

Ok, ok, I guess you win!!!! I have to tell. How could I possibly say no to that doll? Did every one get plenty of duck tape from Sacs, so that you can catch the beans as they spill?

All right, ready every one? Better sit down, this is a long story, and I give you my word is all true!!!

Back around 1987 I was working for a large corporation here in California, in the Accounting Department. I was fairly new and was still being train by the woman whose job I was taking over, since she had been promoted to another job in the same office. Well, every one in the office hated this woman. She was the B....... from Hell! I kid you not. Hate to talk this way, but I did promise to tell the truth!

Her office was full of folders and files and paper everywhere, to give the apparance that she was a very important and busy person. In actuality, she did not know her nose from a whole in the ground! But that's another story.

Anyhow, being that I was new and all, I was the new punching bag and focus or her vindictive, petty, obnoxious personality. She spent most of the day, not training me for the new job, but telling me how stupid I was compared to the computer she used (an old main frame that was so obsolete, the mice in the office refused to eat the cables attached to it, they said they were pass the date on the package). She would also tell me that the janitor was far more qualified for my job than I was. Well, this went on for months. I was under so much stress from her constant harrasment and learning the job, that I could bearly function. I did notice that my consumption of chocolate was way up. After all, I desperately needed some confort food to help me deal with the idiot! The more she harassed me, the more chocolate I would eat. The more chocolate I would eat, the more stressed I felt.

Finally, things got so bad I was a reck. But even worse, I was homicidal! I wanted to kill her. I was thinking of ways to dispose of her. The corporation was actually the biggest contiguous ranch in the US, and our office was surroundes by hundreds of thousands of acres of total wilderness. There were plenty of places were I could dispose of this ignoramus! One morning, as I was walking out the door to go to work, I told my husband... Dan, so help me, if she even looks at me today, I'm going to grab her and use her head as a mop! We are going to have the cleanest office in town by the time I'm done with her!

But, Alas, my conscience would not even go there with me. I do try to be a Christian. I just knew for sure that a bolt of lightening was being forged in the heavenly blacksmith shop, and that my name was being engraved on it by the same fingers that wrote the Ten Commandments! So I needed to get a grip and leave the sure path to perdition. I had to let go, and let God! Oh, the agony of it all. I wanted to take matters into my own hands, but I also did not want to get struck by lightening. So, I decided to make a test. I would stop eating chocolate for a few days to see if the chocolate was one reason I was so hyper. So, I stop eating chocolate. One week went by, and I noticed that I went from wanting to kill the woman, to only wanting to beat the Caracas out of her. Another week without me eating chocolate, and I no longer wanted to beat her, now I only wanted her to have four flat tires on the way home.

It was incredible. The longer I went without eating chocolate, the more my my normally sweet, kind, lovable, gentle, long suffering personallity was resurfacing (well, ok, maybe I ain't never been that nice, but I was getting more calm). And then it hit me: "Chocolate makes me want to kill people!" But, common, who in their right minds would want to really give up chocolate. So I keep my discovery to myself.

But, not for long. My friends started to notice the change too. They started asking me... "Hey, how come you're so much nicer lately, we almost like you now!" Finally, I had to spill the beans. Oh, not the same ones I'm spilling here. We ran out of food once and had to use those. Anyhow, I confessed, I told them the whole story like I'm doing right here. Their response.... "Don't you ever touch chocolate again, at least, not this side of Armageddon! And so it happen. I had no choice. I had to give up eating chocolate. I have not eaten it since.

Later on I learned from a friend that works with Social Services, that juveniles in custody are not given chocolate while in detention either, because chocolate does have a drug in it that makes some people very aggressive!

There now, are you all happy? And so help me, if you start harassing me now, I will go to the nearest Seed's Candy shop and I will eat every thing in site, then I will come after you!!!!

:o

Wow Granny!! I wonder if it causes depression too? And I have always heard that chocolate is good for you. Did the big happy B---- ever get fired? People like that should not be supervisors!! You can get so much more production out of a happy employee. She obviously hated herself, so she wanted everyone else to be as unhappy as her!! Thank you for sharing your story! Um, yes, it does...I have a cousin who went through a "similar" type of story in finding out that her bouts of depression came from her binges with chocolate!

And Granny....you oughta be an author -- you tell the story in such a way I could almost hear the inflection, and I've never even heard you! Great story...we don't need chocolate anyway, do we! (At least I don't, LOL!)

Wow! I love that story. Thanks for the smile on my face!

Wiz--I love your comment and will have to remember it. I am the owner of 5 cats and have had to make myself stop there as I have the great potential to be the crazy cat lady.

Thank goodness I am not a chocolate eater. I may have it once in a while, but very rarely. I think I am an oddity among most women...at least I am among the women I know. I've had two boxes of those little Hershey's 60 calorie sticks in my cabinets for at least 3 months and have barely put a dent in them.

Wiz..adorable pics of Em..give her a kiss from me..

Thanks granny for spilling those "Chocolate Beans"..great storytellin and very interesting too..when I worked 3rd shift..along about 3 everyone would hit the breakroom for chocolate...to wake us up and give us energy..I know they give it to recovering addicts to help satisfy the craving for drugs..when the boys were young I tried to keep chocolate away from them..they would eat it and bounce off the walls almost..Im glad Ive never been a big fan of chocolate but I could sit and eat a whole big box of Whitmans Sampler..I love it..my dad used to give my mother and my sister and I big boxes for valentines day..the last few times I tried to eat chocolate I got choked...guess thats someones way of telling me Im not supposed to eat sugar..lol

Well, thank you all for your understanding hearts. I do love chocolate and dream many times that I'm eating it. Then I panic!

Pkdoll, thank you, but it's not will power. I had to make a vow that I would not eat it. It's the only thing that keeps me from braking down and running to a chocolate factory! The hardest part was giving up Bob's Big Boy's Hot Fudge Cakes. They are to die for! But it was either this or loose all my friends... All two of them!!!

Oh, and the supervisor? She quit because she got a new supervisor and he was more than eager to fire her. She saw the light at the end of the tunnel. It was a train coming to get her, so she quit!!!! But not before the company switched to Desktop PCs and had a training section with all employees and the company supplying the computers. As it turns out, she could hardly tell the mouse from from the floppy drive!!!!

Life is good!

Loved the story Granny!:D What a knack you have telling the truth.....lol.

Wiz, I loved the saying about the cats. Did you originally come from somewhere in the south. Southerners have a graphic, pictorial way of saying things. Oops.......graphic and pictorial are the same thing....:p

Chocolate......I sometimes crave it. Not often though. It does seem to occur at those times somebody has dissed me......hee, hee. I get a strange preoccupation with knives and other weapons. Is this my body's way of helping my mind rid the earth of the disser? :D Seriously, I've know for awhile that I can't eat chocolate after 3 pm or I'm up all night - very active, like I'm on speed.
