My family could sure use some strong ones right about now. Last night my sister in law Kelly came down stairs and told my brother she didn't feel good then started throwing up and passed out on the kitchen floor. My brother took her to the hospital where they did an MRI and shipped her to a trauma hospital about 40 mins away. They found an aneurysm on Kelly's brain that had started to leak. She was rushed into the OR last night to drain the blood off her brain and again this morning to put some coil thing in her brain. She is holding her own but is in critical condition. When she woke up at the first hospital she told my brother she wanted to go home, it was just a headache and the doctors told her if she had gone home and taken headache meds she would have been dead in a minute. My poor brother is still shaking. So if ya can...please pray that Kelly pulls through this ok. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Oh Wiz, so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. My sister-in-law in Oklahoma had a brain aneurysm too. She was at a friends house for a prayer meeting when she was talking to one of the girls there and just passed out. She has been through a lot since than. I will pray for your sister-in-law and you and all your family. Hoping that things go okay for her.

Any news Wiz? This is the same reason why I tell people not to take life for granted...and live everyday like it is your last one here...I have been on my death bed several times, and know the meaning of cherishing life...Anything can happen at any second...and you can't prepare yourself for it...I hope she is doing better...I'm still praying for her...

You and family are in my thoughts an prayers. My hubby has had a headache for 2 weeks and his Dr. told him it's normal when you start getting old. He's 43. That it is like a muscle spams in the brain. I never heard of such a thing has anyone else? Eye,Onie you nurses any insight?
In my prayers,

Headaches are NEVER normal nana, there is always a reason for them be it something small like stress or something huge like a tumor. I would get a second opinion.
My sister in law had been seeing Doctors for a while because she was having stroke like symptoms and look what happened to her! They never found this thing till it started leaking...It's probably something small but better safe than sorry I say!

Since we are on the subject....Have your husband get a second opinion...If any doctor tells you something is normal, its cause they dont know what the problem is...You wouldn't be seeeing a doc in the first place if it was normal, right?
I have had alot of medical issues, second opinions etc...Its not fun, but it might save your life or someone elses...I have been a Diabetic since I was 15 and at the age of 28 I had a heart attack...Docs blamed it on the diabetis and birth control..Maybe so, but a couple years later, my Diabetic doctor put me on a pill named Avandia as an insulin sumpliment...Well, 4 weekes later, I almost died...All my arteries shut down...Had a five bypass...Come to find out, is was cause of that darn pill...Heart surgeon said patients with diabetes and heart problems should not be on that pill!!!!!!! DUH- shouldn't my doctor have known that? Second opinions can count for something...My life has changed drastically cause of a pill... Sad isn't it?
Wiz, how is she doing? and how is your brother?

So sorry to hear about this Whiz!!! We just hear Friday that my mom has a small anurism in her legs.
I hope your sister in law will come out allright. Glad she got to the doctor in time.
Prayers are at your her bedside. What a shame. One of the young R.N.'S who was preg. had a headache and had the same thing. It took her awhile but she is back in emerg. working.

Aneurysms are very scaring things. Never know when they might occur. I have seen to many in my nursing career. I am praying for your sister-in-law and your whole family.
Headaches should never be ignored. Especially if they are accompanied by nausea, vomitting, vision changes, or dizziness. Any doctor that tells you they are "normal", just might not know what he is talking about. They may be "common", but never "normal". Pain is always an indicator of something. THat is why God gave us pain receptors. Take care and God Bless.

Well Kelly had to have another operation yesterday, the drain they put in her brain stopped working so they had to do another one. She is doing as well as can be expected. They had done all the motor skills tests and stuff and the only thing she has lost is her short term memory, which really sux but It's a whole lot better than losing ALL of her motor skills or even her speech!

The short term memory can be a big deal. When my sister-in-law had her anuryseum she lost her short term memory as well and my brother has to do all the cooking. Because the last time he let her cook she dropped a spoon in a kettle of hot water, and without thinking about it she went to just pluck it out of the water~~she could have been severely burned. But if everything else is working you can get around that. Your whole family is still in my prayers wiz!

I talked to my mom today, Kelly is still in the ICU where she will remain for at least another 10 days her condition is still critical they are watching her very closely for strokes and stuff she has had 4 operations so far and we hope no more but she is in good spirits and cant remember the punch lines of her own jokes and tells the same thing over and over again but the docs have high hopes this will improve also.
thanks for the prayers, I'm beginning to believe they really work!:)

I'm glad progress is being made and hope she continues to do so.

My dear friend WIZ, I'm glad to hear she still has her sense of humor, thats always a good sign..How is your brother holding up? I know its easier said then done, but try not to get too stressed out from everything going on right now in your life, or you will end up causing some damage on yourself as well...Breathe, count to 10, and relax as long as you can...You owe it to yourself...I'm thinking of ya...xo
