On Sunday, I was working on my High School Reunion. I've been sending emails via classmates.com with Reunion information. Shortly later I received an email from a friend that I used to run around with since the 8th grade. His email sounded strange but he included a phone number. I called him and he proceeded to explain....... His wife had just died on Tuesday of brain cancer and they hadn't even had her service yet. He was saying how difficult it had been with the disease the past couple years and now this week, having to make all the arrangements.

Later on Sunday, I was notified that my cousin by marriage had a terrible crises. Dale married my cousins 35 years ago and we all were teenagers together. His sister was driving from Vegas to Utah last Friday and fell asleep at the wheel. Her Mom & Dad were with her. The care flipped over and over, killing all three of them. I remember his parents and sister, but not real well. This week, Dale is barring his parents and sister. I understand the service is on Thursday. I will be calling them tonight at my other cousins home.

Way too much in one day!

OMG Onie, I am so terribly sorry...I hope you are doing okay after all that news...My prayers are with you and their families as well...Anythign I can do to help, just let me know...Living in this cruel world remains a mystery to me, but from my experiences, I truly believe everything happens for a reason...They are in God's hands now and in a better place then us...But they will be missed by many...Take care Onie...I'm here for you...

It just came as a shock to get this much information in one day. As a matter of fact, my dad's baby sister died 3 weeks ago, unexpectedly from a heartattack. It just proves how short life is and that we need to value everyday as it is our last day because I could be!

Onie, I'm so sorry to hear about all this terrible things. Is bad enough when one happens, but all together, wow. Sounds like what happened to me from March last year to March this year. One lost after another. I can't say I know how you feel, cause I don't, but I can only imagine that it's terrible.

If there is anything I can do, please let me know. Thinking about you always...

Ditto to everything! Keeping you and yours in our prayers here!

I know what you mean about everything traveling in bunches...we seem to get it all at once, too...although this past year the bunches just kept coming, arg! But I kept my heart on the Lord -- He is our strength!

As I said earlier, my dad had also lost his baby sister on May 16, unexpectedly. We found out that his last sister is not doing well. She is now in a nursing home and has about 18% kidney function. Diaylsis is not an option. My dad talked to his sister and she begged him to come for a visit. She is in Ohio and my parents are in Arizona. So, I will be out of summer school on June 29th and it looks like we're going to drive through. First stopping in Clarksville TN for a few days to see my daughter, son in law and grandbabies. Dean (son in law) is heading back to Iraq soon and I haven't seen any of them in 2 years.

OH I HATE long road trips!!!! But I think this one is necessary and I do have the time to do it!

You take it easy and drive safely Onie. It is so sad to hear all this bad stuff. Must be hard on your Dad to see all his sisters dying. It is so thoughtful of you to take him. You are a good person xo.

This is going to be an interesting trip. I told my parents to plan the route and we'll take off driving. We're not leaving until Jul 1'st. I will be done with Summer School then and I will still have about 6 weeks before school starts back. Decided to make it a big road trip and be gone for 3 weeks. We will leave here and head for Clarksville TN first, to see my kids for a few days, then go to see my nephews in Kingsport, TN, I have 2 nephews there that have been kept away from our family. It has really hurt my parents. My ex sister-in-law does not know were going to show up on her door step. The boys are 19 & 17 now and my parents did not deserve to be cut out of their lives. So, I'm going to be the brave one and we're going to find them, Next we will head for Washington DC to site see for a few days. I've always wanted to take my son there. Then on to Akron Ohio to see family there. We're taking that route because my son-in-law will be leaving again and I only have about a 3 day opportunity to see the whole family. My grandaughter will also be leaving to go to her Dads. It's sad but I have not seen my kids in over 2 years. I'm thankful that I can take my parents too. It's gotten harder for them with family so far away and we've been losing them now. My dad is real happy that I told him that I would take them. My folks are real planners so this trip sound be interesting.

Onie that sounds like a really fun trip, although you will be driving a lot of miles. But it will all be worth it because you get to see your kids and hopefully, your nephews too; and you also get some sightseeing in. Don't forget your camera so we can see some great LO's!
