My daughter-in-law has been having severe contractions since Sunday now. She is only 29 weeks along, so it is awfully early to even think about delivering. No matter what medicines they give her, the contractions keeps coming back. They are moving her to Madison this afternoon. A bigger city with better NICU facilities. So please pray that they can stop her contractions or that if the little fellow does come early, that he will be safe and survive.

Sorry to hear such news...and hope all goes well...I believe everything happens for a reason...I was blessed to have two children but I also lost two others with miscarriages...Madison is a good place to go and they will take care of her...I'm not far away....<wink>...so I will say my prayers...Keep us informed...and god bless....
P.S.Maybe this will put a smile on your face...I know I have told most my story, but when I was pregnant with my second child (my first one was a miscarriage), I was in the emergency room 6 weeks early for a C-section...Most of the time, preemies are so small, etc...Mine was 10 lbs...lol...he didn't even fit in that little box they are suppose to go in...lol..He is almost 17 now...hehe my thoughts are with you and your family...((HUGS))

I know this is scary Marion! I am praying for a safe delivery, when it is time. Just remember that God's timing and our timing is not always the same. Modern Medicine has come so far and it sounds like the doctors are right on the job. Stay strong and have faith. We love you and your family! :)

OK Marion, thinking of you all. My step-daughter-in-law delivered TWINS at 28 weeks and after initial fears they survived and are now healthy 8yr olds.

I will be praying for your Grandbaby! I know this might not help but I have a friend who had a baby a year ago at 27 weeks and he is doing beautifully today! Please tell the family that we are all praying hard and pulling for the baby to be born safe. You know this subject is very near and dear to my heart.
Hugs to you and your family Maron.

My prayers are with you all. I know what a stressful time this can be. My niece was born at just barely 30 weeks. She is now 7 and healthy and wonderful. There is so much more medical knowledge out there today than there was back then. I will keep your daughter-in-law and the rest of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Marion..so sorry to hear this news...keep looking up Marion and thinking positive thoughts..I will be praying for her and your family..God and the Dr's are working miracles today with premie babies..When I was born the lady in the room with my mother had a premie baby..when they finally got to carry him home they made him a little bed in a shoebox and carried him around in it...years later this lady ended up being my Sunday School teacher..had not seen her in all those years..and her son was a tall..lanky fellow..doing just great..(he was good looking too).. hoping they can stop the contractions and give her a few more weeks hopefully full term....love and hugs

my mum is 74 now, she was born at 29 weeks, wrapped in cotton wool, and placed in a shoe box. So miracles do happen, she is certainly a miracle and one that I am grateful for

Update.
They sent Sarah home from the hospital yesterday after almost a week there. They said her uterus is contracting, but they still don't think it is prelabor. It is not sending signals to the womb to start the birthing process. So this is good news She is going to have to suffer through it which is no fun, but it will help the little guy. I just told Liz, I had a similar thing with my3rd and last baby, I had very strong contractions fromthe 5th month on. Never knew when to go to the hospital or not, but mine was not a high risk pregnancy like hers. She has lupus, so they monitor everything a lot closer. They are doing ultrasounds monthly and are watching her very close. She has also had several miscarriages. This is her 3rd baby and my son's first. So they are all excited to have this first baby together. Anyway for now everything seems to be doing good. (Must be all your wonderful prayers!)
Thanks Guys! I have been so encouraged this week!

Marion,
Just caught this thread and have added Sarah and your (nameless) son to my prayer list. I'm glad that she is home and I will have lot's of good thoughts that they will both, with greater comfort and increased confidence, enjoy the excitement of this final trimester.
Also thinking of you and hoping you can find a way to de-stress and put worry in its place.
