I've been a full-time working mom for almost 17 years and I'm sick of it! LOL I have suddenly discovered that our household and my kids are in desperate need of a mom. Now that's not to say that I don't already do my fair share of mom duties, but if you've ever been a working mom and had busy kidos, you can understand the complete and total confusion that can overtake your world. As my kids get older, I can tell we are about to enter a very crazy and hectic time in our lives - my girls are 16, 11, and 6 - Can you say YIKES? LOL I really need to find another source of income that will allow me to either quit my full-time job and focus on maybe something part-time, or else working out of my home. The HUGE factor in this is that I make REALLY good money working as a Corporate Controller for an aerospace manufacturing company and I"m not in a position to just jump ship and start something at home with NO income... so.... I really need something that I can gradually work and develop? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
So with that said, I'm just curious as to what other stay-at-home-moms do to provide some sort of income?
Please share with me your secrets! THANKS!

I'm watching with interest.I've worked all my life and apart from 4 years it has always been in residential posts. My children were all born during these times, I even went into labour whilst working one evening! I feel we have all missed out on a lot and would do anything to be at home now even though they are now adults, they are still at home. I couldn't afford to give up work. I wish I could invent something and take the world by storm :)

im a carer for my hubby but ive had a multitude of jobs....yup loads of companies have had to suffer me  i was a retail manager for 20 years and then went into office administration
until i found scrapbooking i ran an ebay store selling artwork, giftware and anything that wasnt nailed down at home and was an online psychic/medium
- tip for anyone who wants to do ebay to make extra cash....sell anything that needs ironing, dusting or clutters the house......means less housework and more pc time lol :D

I compromised. I went part-time. I work 8 to 12 every day. But I do a lot of babysitting for my Grandkids, so it's like being a mom all over again.

I could not go that route. I never had any sort of freedom as I had mine sort of late in life.It is just this year now that one is 14 and the other is 17 that I can go to work and not have to get anyone to watch them.I can go shopping and not have to worry. I can just get into the car and go. Wow what a nice feeling after raising 4. Then my son and his girlfriend give me a grandchild and they approached me that when I retire would Ilike to babysit. They must have rocks in their heads. Of coarse I said nope to that one.I do not mind in a emergency to help out but I had my raising days.Do not get me wrong I love my grandkids but I do not think I would have that youthful energy like in the past.I like this new found freedom-----yipee.Wait till I retire. I will have so much enjoyment.I will be able to stay at the beach all summer.:D

My situation is a little different, because I would love to work now that my boys are getting older...Unfortunately, due to too many medical problems I am on Disability and was told never to work again...and I'm only 35...So I am now into designing scrapbooking stuff, and on the side, I do crafts at craft fairs...I have a fiance that brings home the money...I could never live alone just on Disability, even tho it is something...I give you credit to want to be home for the family...Sometimes, money isn't everything...<wink>

genuine survey sites that do pay are hard to find and take a while to get to the amount you need but i do surveys on the following sites which have all paid up and all you have to do is answer questions :D
if you are going to do surveys online go check the survey company out first at this site Survey Police (http://www.surveypolice.com/rankings) you'll get what people really think of the company there plus the links to loads of other great survey sites
You Gov (http://www.yougov.com/users/registrationintro_ref.asp?refid=105052&jID=3&sID=1) i've so far had £100 ($200 approx) from them in the last 8 months for doing surveys - there is yougov uk, america and middle eastern.....so choose the right section for where you live...they send you surveys everyso often and state how much completing the survey is worth....im 3/4 of the way to my next £50 cheque :D
Media Transfer AG (http://www.mediatransfer.com/index.php?languageID=20&SID=fa6a87591214abef2fb5b3e1f24d55fe&clear=attributemap) - great site...select your country from the drop down menu - they pay in amazon vouchers and in usa paid4gifts vouchers
Test & Vote (http://www.testandvote.com//inscription.php) it has registration for countries outside uk and give various voucher incentives which come in useful for buying presents & gifts ;)
uk only
Valued Opinions UK only (http://www.valuedopinions.co.uk/service.aspx) great survey site if you live in the uk - they pay in high street shopping vouchers....i get tesco's ones and if you save them all year - have about £100 - £200 to spend by christmas ;)
