Hi everyone! (No, No baby yet :()
With all the lovely peeps on here I was Hoping to find someone who is Polish or can cook Polish food. I have had the WORST craving for kapusta (sorry if I spelled this wrong) I wake up durring the night dreaming about it! My gramma made it alot when I was a little kid and for some reason lately it's all i want to eat! Does ANYONE have a recipe for it or know where I can find one that was written by a REAL Polish woman/man??? Thanks!
My mom tried to make it but it was no where close to gramma's .

My daughter's first husband made Halushki Kapusto (spelling?) for us. I loved it and it was so simple to make. Hope maybe this what you're looking for (he said if extra company came, his grandmother simply added more cabbage!).
Cut up a large head of cabbage.
Cook in oil in a large pot.
Meanwhile cook Kluski noodles as directed on package.
When cooked, drain and add to cooked cabbage. He also added sausage or ham to the mixture! Yum!! It isn't always easy to find Kluski noodles - but they're yummy! If you can't get an authentic recipe, you might try this!

Marion: Thanks a BUNCH for finding the recipe for me....it's real close to Grams. (cept instead of rice, she used Barley..and Keilbasa and pork nibblets)
I sent Mark to the store and guess what's Cookin'???? hehehe...ahhhh the smell...mmmmmm mmmmmmmm
As for walking....I have tried everything under the sun to get this child to turn her butt around..from being on all fours to trying to turn her with external massage...she is being STUBORN!!!! She wants to be born butt first! My pelvic bones can't stretch anymore than they have....ouch the burn! I'm still only an "ALMOST 3" as Dr Josey puts it. She say's we may have to schedule a section..I go back Friday..I just want it OVER!!!! :(

Well Wiz...you could always try my grandmothers old timey remedy...take some Castor Oil...but I dont think I would advise it...you might still be sick on Friday... .
Babies have a mind of their own and I bet this one comes into this world being stubborn and independent..LOL
Maybe Friday the Dr. will schedule you a time to go to the hospital and do a C section..just put you to sleep and get that girl outta there...Im thinking bout you girl...good luck..and enjoy your whatchmacallits..:D

Sometimes when I am hungry for the halupkis, and dont feel like making them, I make the porcipine meatballs( thats what we call them) and shred up a head of cabbage, put it all in a crock pot of tomato sauce and homemade tom. juice. garlic of course, other seasonings and simmer all day and WALA, yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyy:)

Ok, so I go to the doc's today, I get there early, I wait. And wait and wait. Hour and 40 mins go by and the receptionist keeps telling me that Josey had to do an emergency section...ok no biggie, how long can they last right? At 4:50 her nurse comes out to ask me if I would like to reschedule cuz they have NO IDEA how long she is going to be!!! By now I'm more than a little upset but what can I do? OK reschedule me. Dr won't be in Monday or Tuesday and Wednesday is bad..over booked, Can I come THURSDAY?!?!? I asked to see the other doc in her office...like I thought I was going to see today but he got called to Carthage Hospital, won't be back in for a week! I decided to take the castor Oil before I go to bed tonight! I'm sick of this crap! If I have to see her in L&D then so be it! Do I sound upset? knowing my luck, I'll end up being sick with nothing to show for it but hips that refuse to work and a bellybutton that hurts so much it's hard to breath! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!:(

Do you realize it took me over a year to teach Mark how to turn this thing on? and another 8 months to get on ebay to shop and search for things! :DLOL
I will however write him a tut on how to get on the board and leave a message...probably won't work but I DO have a back up plan. My babysitter is good with computers..Im gonna show her how and she can do it for me lol
Which brings me to a Question...I haven't yet figured out how to post my layouts and things yet so if someone can give me the idiots quickie version, I would like Mindy to post Emily's picture (yep I'm bringing 4 cameras in with me, my digital, poloroid, advantix and my new SLR) just to be on the safe side hehehe.
