Yes it does Granny. In November we lost a Dear Family Friend . He was young 15 years old. Still had a life ahead of him. I've haven't lost a child but it's very heart breaking. I can only empathize being a parent with children and then losing one. I can only imagine.

I am sooo sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Here is a poem Ameliasmuma shared with me just a few weeks ago, and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. May you and your sister-in-law find some comfort in it as well

It is always sad when a life is lost, but so tragic when they are so young. Thinking of you Nana and your family. x

What a terrible time for your family.. I am so saddened to hear that news. I pray that you will be comforted.
This below is a song that we often sing in our congregation .. the words are based on the Bible and it is very uplifting. Its about the future and a time when we will be re-united with our dead loved ones - A hope to be treasured

A Paradise our God has promised
by means of Christ's millenial reign
When he'll blot out all sin and error
Removing death and tears and Pain.

Soon here on earth, for God so purposed,
His son will cause the dead to rise
It was the promise of Christ Jesus
"You'll be with me in Paradise"

O Joy of Joys What grand re-union
When billions dead return to life
Will be a time of fine instruction
completely free from hatefull strife

A paradise the earth will be
with eyes of faith this we can see
This promise Christ will soon fulfill
for he delights to do God's will

So sorry to hear all this bad news.I have no answers but I do have a prayer.Prayers are truly amazing and they actually work which is so great.I am sadden to see the sudden death of a young person. I do not think it is an easy thing to go through. My poor mum dealt with that when my sister was suddenly killed in a car. It is so hard but God was her healer and he created Time for those of us who have to mourn. It is this Time that will heal us and is the medicine from God.The poems were all lovely.Take care and I feel really bad for the mother and of coarse you.Prayers for you will be on going.xo:)

If anyone knows where I could find the Poem "God's Lent Child" please let me know I have been looking for it. It's an awesome poem. I can't remember who the author is though. Found out there weren't any drugs or alcohol involved which is good. Thanks again everyone.

Tears in my eyes...it's terrible to lose a child...but when you have the faith that you will be with them again it can almost put a smile on your face...I know my daughter is happy...I know she is influential, somehow, in the lives of her siblings...OH! If I only had the time to tell you. For us, she is still alive...she is just somewhere else but still knows us and loves us.

We were leaving on a trip a few days before she died...she had an appointment with a heart doctor while we were gone...she had been having some recent minor problems and thought it would be a good idea...as I hugged her goodbye I admonished her not to forget her appointment...because..."I want you to be here when we get back!" She died while we were gone...she was 29. I was teasing her but also trying to make the appointment seem more important than any of us thought it could possibly be...she never made it to the doctor.

I identify so much with what you wrote, Fiona...thank you so much for pointing us to it...;o) Our daughter had been such a delight.
HUGGGS to all!!!

God's lent Child

I'll lend you for a little while
A child of mine, God said
for you to love, while they live.
And mourn for when there dead.
It may be six or seven years
or forty two or three
but will you, till I call them back,
take care of them for me?
They'll bring there charms to gladden you
and, should there stay be brief....
You'll have there lovely memories
as a solace for your grief.
I cannot promise they will stay,
since all from earth return,
but there are lessons taught below,
I want this child to learn.
I've looked the whole world over
in my search for teachers true,
and from the things that crowd life's lane,
I have chosen you!
Now will you give them all our love?
Nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take
This LENT CHILD back again?
I fancied that I heard them say
Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy thy child shall bring
the risk of grief we'll run.
We will shelter them with tenderness,
we'll love them while we may.
And for the happiness we have known
forever grateful stay.
But should thy Angel call for them
much sooner then we've planned,
we'll brave the bitter grief that comes
and try to understand....

"He'll bring his charms to gladden you and should his stay be brief,

"I fancied that I heard I heard them say," 'Dear God - Thy will be done.
For all the joys Thy child will bring the risk of grief we'll run.
We will shelter him with tenderness, we'll love while we may,
And for the hapiness we've known forever grateful stay.
But should Thy Angels call for him much sooner than we'd planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.'"
