Hello Everyone...well the big day is over..all the cooking and cleaning and hard work was worth it for the precious memories gathered today...most of us probably went to bed stuffed from overeating..swallowing tums or alka selzer...and another thing I bet a lot of fridges are stuffed with LEFTOVERS...Friday is offically the start of the Christmas Season...I thought it would be fun to see what different people do with the leftovers, any special recipes to use them up..anything special or a family tradition that continues on Friday..some people start decorating for Christmas or go shopping...lets share some..
it should be fun to see...I will start with one of my simple recipes for leftover mashed potatoes called Kitten Britches..in your leftover mashed potatoes put some chopped onion, chopped pepper, 1 egg and just enough flour so you can make patties from the mixture..fry them in hot oil until the outside is brown and crispy and the inside is hot...I know not good for your arteries but just one day out of the year wont hurt and they are soooo good...
To all of our friends who dont live in the USA tell us some of your family traditions or favorite memories of Christmas..or special holiday you celebrate that we dont..hope to hear from all of you..:)

Jazz, my grandmother was Scottish and she helped bring me up in England . Mashed potato, cold, hot I adored (still do!) She made me this with left over mashed potato which I think she called tattie cakes. She didn't put onion in, I must try that. Oh the memories!

What is Black Pudding?

Yuk, it is a type of sausage made from pig's blood , suet and seasoning.
It is loved by thousands and also hated like I do!
