Well gang our cheese straws are finished....cooked them last night and put them in the freezer...I also picked up some red pepper jelly, cream cheese and crackers...ymmmmm...I may have that eaten up before party time..just spread on some cheese and add some jelly and wow what a treat..its sooo good..and pretty too..lol

Soooo get the lights up and lets get this BASH started!!! I think we all could use a good party around here, its been awhile....

I'll look after the lights - I'll string coloured party lights all over the exterior and use a few strobing spots to highlight the 'WELCOME HOME' sign (has anyone got that sorted yet??) Inside I'll run strings of fairy lights so that they aren't too overbearing, keep them up high and arond the back of the dance floor - coloured rotors to highlight the dance floor - NO WOLVSIE THERE WILL NOT BE ANY DISCO BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll also look after the light cream cheese for the dips and the light beer - I think that's how you illuminate the heavy drinkers isn't it? - Use light beer.

Like all the party's, I'll miss out because of being on the other side of the world. :(

Terry my friend good to see you!! If you need any help hanging dem lights let me know, I would gladly give you a hand. Yes I did raise some taxes-we needed some revenue to fix this place up. Also, my office was ransacked, but then someone very generously refurnished the place for me and it's really looking spiffy. I got the peanut bars baked and I made an awesome shrimp, garlic and noodle salad. You guys are gonna love it. I would like to know how many are coming so I can make sure I have enough. Wolvsie is in charge of the party hats and streamers. Boy it's gonna be a good one!!!

A couple of cops came by tonight (ugly ones too....looked like women dressed up as men!!!) asking questions about the mattress litter all over town! I didn't even know we HAD cops around here!!!! I politely told them that I have been stuck in my house with the monkeys and haven't seen a thing! You know what they say "see no evil, hear no evil, do no evil" that is my motto of life. :)

After they left I peeked out the window and saw the two of them running off into the woods giggling...... one of them grabbed a jug of some kind out of a bush... looked like a jar of vino to me.... So be on the lookout for 2 cops..... I think they are pretenders!!!!!!

Have put together some special 'hide out' packs for anyone who wants one, contents..... face mask cutout of granny (so if she see's you she`will think its just a reflection), banana's to throw at the apes if they get to nosey, pillow case stuffed with bits of mattress (for comfort ), peg to put on nose (as mattress bits are smelly), and last but not least a bag of fairy floss from my tree

nan all I can suggest is you freeze all the goodies like I did..who knows when the party will be...who knows where wiz and onie are even..I think a
retirement party for eye would be good and use up all this good stuff we have made and when the newlyweds come back we can get a definite date from them....

omg, I am sitting here wishing the cold would go away and the heat would hurry on back. It's still winter here and I hate the cold. I'm a Darwin girl and it's tropical there, so now I am in Melb I have to get used to 4 seasons again.......pulls blanket tight around shoulders to stop shivering

oh it is not cold here. It was in the high 80's today and calling to be 92 tomorrow and wouldn't you know it, our air conditioner just died. I put a call in but the answering service answered and said they would have them call us in the morning. I hope they make it here early! It might be rough trying to sleep tonight (for me) I have alergies and having the air conditioner on makes it much easier to breath for me. It is suppose to cool down over night but still be humid.

Sue, I saw on the news about the flooding there, OMG, so happy to hear its not near you, WOW that is something to see, we had it here a few years ago, and it is aweful, you really cant comprehend it until you see it yourself, what distruction water can do. I hope they fixed that air conditioner, with the heat the way its been, I'd go to a hotel if mine broke!
Well I did the back to school dance yesterday, Ahhhhh what a feeling!!! The house actually stayed cleaned for a whole 6 hours!!!! That itself was complete JOY!

nanwu, can't wait to get some of that cool air. It is a scorcher today and the air conditioner isn't fixed. I ended up sleeping on the couch last night. it was way to hot upstairs. Needless to say it wasn't a good nights sleep. I will be staying at my moms tonight where there is air conditioning. Ron can tough it out!... LOL It turned out that the compresser and coil would have to be replaced and it is too much money just to fix it, considering that our Furnace may not make it through the winter either. So we are going to get the whole shabang New Furnace and Air combined. Trouble is, I don't know how soon they can get it installed. It is suppose to cool down for the next couple of days anyway (after today). It is really hot in this house. The fans are just blowing around hot air. I would tough it out, but with my alergies it makes it hard for me to breath when it is this humid. This had to happen right after getting the roof replaced:( Still have to repair the damage from that!

Well if you don't see me on at all after bit you know why! (maybe I will check in from my moms computer! Just can't do any downloading... he he)

Ohhhh Sue, I sure feel for you! If its gonna cool down after today, I sure hope it spreads its way over this way. Oh nooo, a whole new system, I remember when we had to do that, make sure you get 3 different estimates, we paid out the butt for ours and they had to put in all new duct (or duck as some would say) work. Not a fun time... but ya need heat too...but if I could do it again, I would definately get 3 different estimates, we were told AFTER that we paid way too much!

Sue you poor thing!! I could not survive in that heat-and my DH has asthma and allergies-so we would definately have to go to a motel with air!! That sounds too hot and sticky and miserable!! Jazz I know what you mean about hot and humid! My DH can't go out in that either. That makes for a claustrophobic feeling of being stuck inside!! Wiz is back in the forums-I saw some of her new LO's of Emmy!! So cute!! Nanwu I would like some cooler days-but not winter days!!! Them apes almost have all the lights hung! They sure must like Terry to get that done--but some bulbs need replacing. I froze my goodies for the parties too! Hopefully Onie will return soon and we can get the festivities on the move!!

Hi all, Well I didn't make it in here last night. It was nice a cool at my mom's house. But that bed....It is a twin bed and the mattress is as hard as the floor. I like a firm mattress but that one is like sleeping on bricks. Well it is a little cooler today. I came home after a Dr. appt. Opened all the windows, turned on all the fans. One of them is right next to a window. It wasn't long and the house cooled down a lot. So I guess I will be staying here tonight. Probably the next couple of nights, but then it is suppose to warm up again. We are not getting the new heating and cooling system until next week. They needed time to get everything in. No Crops, we didn't get three estimates, but we had gotten one in the winter for the furnace and this one was cheaper then that one. The brand we are getting is Amana so hopefully it will work just fine.

Well, hubby just got home a little bit ago so I better get going and spend time with him since I wasn't here last night!

The roof is done but we have to get gutters on yet. That is also next week.

Oops forgort to say thanks for the air Wolvsie! and Doll, at least you understand, not everyone does. My hubbies one friend likes to make remarks that they don't use Air (like it is a waste of money). My husband said back to him "well I don't know what to tell you but, my wife has alergies and needs to have the air on". If I could get by without it, I would! It would certainly be cheaper.

Too funny...We have the good poker chips and all...$10 a game until we are down to three players...and I come in the top three every game...When someone loses too soon, cause of going all in and losing, then I have slot games going on three different computers for them to play cause it takes awhile to finish one game..Thats why its 10 bucks buy in...But worth it if you come in the top three...Come on over, you will fit right in...<wink> Two tables of players then as people drop out we combine them into ont table...Its a great night...

We do the same. Sometimes we have to set up 2 tables and than combine down to one-other times there are fewer people and we just play one table. But I cannot say that I finish in the top 3 every time!!:( Our buy in is $5.00, but we set time limits and at each time limit the pots double. During the period of the first time frame if you go all in and lose you can buy in again, but after that you can't buy back in anymore. So much fun! But yes it does take a long time to finish the game. :)

OK citizens of Scrapsville..gather at the town hall we are going to hunt for our wolvsie...there are pleanty of places where someone could hide her..those who dont have any problems walking can search the north end of town in the woods..I think there are some abandoned shacks out there..and a few of those old mines...carry a megaphone and call her but dont go into the shafts they are way to dangerous...unless you hear her and then access the situation and make a plan..there are all those empty buildings west of town where the old scrapsville was..perfect place for hiding somone..need walkers for there also..we will set up a command post with hot coffee and sandwiches and other things you might need and the ones of us who cant walk will keep that going..I wish I hadnt left wolvsie out in the barn but I wanted to look around for onie..and check on wiz and emily..Im with mayor doll...we dont need any violence in Scrapsville...this must end before it gets started..we need our sheriff back...
Mayor Doll did you ever get the blue prints for that old building that burned down..Im thinking that was the building that has all the hidden passages under it..Ive heard stories about what is was used for..its supposed to come out down at the river at that old landing...I would love to know whats down there...maybe GOLD...or SILVER...

Hey everyone, The heating and Airconditioning guys arrived about 2 hours ago. One is working in the basement tearing out the old furnace the other is outside taking out the old airconditioner. Another crew just arrived a little bit ago with the new ones (I hope anyway). I hope they can get the air up tonight. If not it will be tomorrow. He told me it would take a day and a half to complete but I am crossing my fingers and toes!

I hope someone finds Wolvsie soon! I wonder where she is?

Alright two of our citizens have gone missing and frankly... it isn't very fun any more.... this is seriouse. I am pulling out the chocolate detector...... this baby can find a trace of chocalate a mile underground (got it from e-bay!!!!) This is sure to find our dear citizens!!!

yeah crops, I know exactly what your mean, my family don't get it either, I told my family I was worried about a friend of mine who was very ill, they were all sympathetic until they suggested I go visit the person, when I told them I couldn't because they were overseas and that they were one of my friends from sbm they looked at me as if I was nuts getting upset.
but i am upset, I care about Jazz even though I have only known her through this site and only for a short time, she has been a good friend to me

Just got back into the B&B and found that someone has been enjoying the vino in the cellar! I am ordering a keg of root beer for everyone to enjoy at my welcome home party. Chocolate for everyone (except Granny).

I was wondering...... Has anyone thought about re-opening up the the bowling alley? I love to bowl and thought it would be great if we could open that place. I heard it was closed when someone reported seeing ghosts in there! Does anyone believe in ghost? What do ya think?

I ran out and bought a new bowling ball so I'm ready to play. Had to drive out of town to get the ball but I also did some practicing!

Now about that bowling alley. I need to find out WHO owns that building so we can start renivating it. I heard the bowling alley was abandon and the tax office may own it for back taxes! Maybe our Mayor know..........hummmmmmmm. The outside is all boarded up! I bet there are bugs, and spiders living in there. Not to mention anything else!!!!

Well-I checked at the tax office and yes the town does own it for back taxes. We can offer somebody a good deal if they are willing to fix it up. It would appear that the inside of the building is still in excellent condition, foundation is sound-it just needs a lot elbow grease and a good face lift. Of course the alleys need waxing, carpeting shampooed, and lots of tender loving care. Anyone interested in purchasing it and running what may turn into the hotspot of scrappsville just let me know and we can work out a sweet deal on the purchase price!!:):)

oh, I was over at the hardware store getting some paint (my contribution to the bowling alley) and I found this odd looking key on the floor........don't know what it fits..hmmmmmmmm...might take it out to the girls at the burnt out building......they said something about a locked door and no key.......will drop off some paint samples to onie and manatee on the way, they can pick whatever colours they wish (it's already paid for).Heads off.......

Well Onie the town board suggested that we let the building go for $1.00 under the condition that they get a percentage of the profits to help offset any future tax increases. In other words we will try not to raise taxes around here for as long as possible with the help of the bowling alley proceeds. We figure 15% would be fair. We can always re-negotiate in 5 years. Should be able to afford that easily enough with no mortgage payments to be made. What do you think of that?? Manatee do you own anything in town? Maybe you would be willing to take over the bowling ally. That would be so exciting for everyone!:) Or maybe Wolvsie can do it-not sure she owns anything in town either. Well we can have a town meeting and decide the best route to go!!!:)

I have to admit. the paint that was brought by is so cool. I love them all. Yes, the black and white checkered floor is a must. The juke box sounds great. All the waitresses can where poodle skirts. I do no recomment serving food and drinks on roller skates, they might fly down the lanes and knock over the pins! lol

Oh I would love to procure such a great piece of property!!! (especially at such a bargain!!!) I do own a bussines in town already. There was a bit of a monkey problem (along side the apes) when I moved here so I took up monkey training. I was so good at it that the monkeys calmed right down and now live happily in the back yard. No one seems to even remember that I opened this bussiness and the moneys have been great so I am in need of a new career. Maybe Wolvsie would like to be my partner and co-operator. (not to take it from you Onie....) What do ya say Wolvsie... Oh by the way... SO GOOD TO HAVE Wolvsie and Crops back!!!! Oh the bowling alley is going to be so much fun! I have 3 people contact me about refinishing the lanes. I figure we'll get bids from all three of them and see exactly what they have in mind. The alley doesn't look bad on the surface.

I understand that one of the apes will be sorting the pens and getting all of the cracked or broken ones together! I was thinking that we could paint the old pens and convert them to lamps and then sell them. Bowling Pens make really cool lamps with little shades on top.

I was checking out the paint and agree that it really needs a face lift on those walls. Paint to follow the 50 theme.

Now that is a great idea for the name! We could have a party room set up for scrappin but will need to get the place wired for wireless networking and plenty of outlets! Yepper, we'll have demonstrations on the various programs available to do all those fancy things. Maybe Granny could teach her program! I'm sure that would keep her sanity better in control! I'm putting in an order for some 'double sars' to drink (I will send a couple of cartons over as I don't know if you get it over there) and some 'Portello' while I'm at it. I make beef jerky so have posted a few crates over for the kiosk, tastes real good (even if i do say so myself LOL).
I have made 12 fluffy duck skirts and packaged them up, 4pink,4blue, 4yellow will get them out in the post. this should do for a start will make more as required.

As an extra goodie, I made some matching socks...Colors to match the skirts and they have they own individual poodle on them...Real cute and fashionable, I might add!
Check out the freezer, last night I dropped off a whole bunch of pink ice cubes for the drinks...They are refreezabe ice cubes..Plastic shapes filled with water...So cute, I had to buy them...Also found black and white baskets for the popcorn....:D

I hung up nanwu's records...Made the banner and hung it up over the lanes...I decide we will give some free scrappin' stuff away with raffles...Figured the money received from the tickets can also go towards the upkeep of the alley..Does that sound good? Boy, my day got off to a bad start, but it turned out ok. Mom called shortly after hubby left for work. She was crying and said she let Star outside, when she went to get him back in so he could get his medicine he was gone. Some one left the gate open. She had walked up and down the street and couldn't find him. (Now she has 2 artificial hips and 2 artificial knee's and doesn't get around well). I told her to sit still and I would be over. Threw on some clothes, didn't even touch my hair, hopped in the car. Got on my cell and called hubby. He hadn't gotten to work yet and said he was on his way over. I got over there and was going slow down the street with both windows open so I could call to him if I saw him. Pretty soon hubby pulls up beside me with Star in the car. He found him the next block over! Drive farther down the street toward's my mom's and there she is walking back from the corner again. UGH. That's all I would need is for her to topple over on the street. (she is unsteady walking) She had her cane but should have been using the walker. She really shouldn't have been walking that far, although she does need to get some excersize.

So then she said she needed to go to the store but was all wore out now and asked if I would take her. I look at myself (nothing done to hair, clothes all wrinkled), I guess......

But everything turned out ok!

But reading what you all did...I have been there...Like today...My boys are home sick...Both of them...Well, they ahve had some accidents, and man, did I have to get them sheets in the laundry...Go downstairs, no darn laundry soap...I thru some clothes on and ran to the store...and like you, never used a brush in my hair...I just pulled it all back, no make-up even...UGH!!!!! I normally never leave the house like this...Two things happened don't ya know...I met up with an ex boyfriend and his new fanny...I can just image what she was thinking when she saw me...*Now I know why the two fo you aren't together anymore*...LOL...and then I get the laundry soap, and a couple other things since I was there....Right? Well, on the way home...I'm driving along, thinking of the mess I have in the basement...(I'm a clean freak), and the smell it was going to leave...when all of a sudden I heard sirens and lights in my mirror...I did nothing wrong, that I could tell anyways...I pull over, cop gets out of the car, and I almost died...!!!!!!! He was so buff and meaty...Not to mention drop dead gorgeous...All I wanted to do was hide my head in the glove box of the car...LOL...I was so embarrassed..Here I have a brake light out...I think I only looked right at him once, and that was to get the warning ticket...So it must be one fo those days...<wink>

WOW!! Very busy and everything looks so wonderful! Well ladies I have all the necessary permits and licenses so the bowling ally can open without a problem, except of course the inspectors have to come in and inspect the plumbing, electrical and food prep areas. But that's just a formality because everything looks good to me!! Does anyone have any poodle coolots or peddle pushers??? AHHHH!!!!! Home sweet home!!!!!! I've been out of town for a week doing wedding stuff! BIL got married on Friday! I had internet but not much time to use it! LOL. I am back and ready to get busy on the finishing touches around the bowling alley!

One of my monkeys decided to dress up as me and wander up into the attic for a nap..... sorry about that! I really don't snore....but man... the monkeys could cauze an earth quake with their snoring!!! LOL The good new is that he is my mechanical monkey and he did manage to get the A/C working!!!....however we are headed into winter so I sent him back up to get the heating working too!! LOL

Wow... this place looks great!!!! What need to be done still!? Onie maybe you and I can sit down and go over a pricing list.

WOW, has it been quiet around here, no posts since 9/30. The party must be over! Well, I just wanted to say good bye for now. I am leaving in the morning for vacation. Hope you all have fun and stay out of trouble while I am gone. I turned my keys into the Mayor for the Hardware just in case some ones needs something while I am gone. We are going on a long circle drive. Up through the UP in Michigan, into Wisconsin, then into Minnesota along the North coast of Lake Superior. Then we will turn around and head south. We will stop and visit my sister who lives in Owatonna. When we leave there we are heading toward the Mississippi River and will follow that south for a while until we decide to head east back to Ohio. A lot of driving! But we will be hitting a lot of parks and do some hiking along the way. Hopefully a lot of good pics.

Hi all, I am at my sisters in Minnesota right now. We were having a great time, but we go bad news about my mom's dog Star. He is back in the hospital and it doesn't look good. Right now the vet can only give him a 50/50 chance of pulling through this time. He has pancreatitis and there is an absess. We ok'd him to do a biopsie tomorrow. He won't know the results until Monday. My mom is alone and pretty upset so we will be cutting the vacation short and heading back home tomorrow. Only got to see my sister last night and today, but we want to get back just in case Star doesn't pull through this. We check back in with you when we get home.

Thank you all, we just got home a little bit ago but it is bad news. Star didn't make it. He passed away some time during the night last night. We didn't make it back in time to see him. I am just glad he was in the hospital and not at home with my mom since she was alone. We have to go get him tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to that. It was a rough ride home. My mom called us about an hour after we got on the road with the bad news. We felt so bad that she was alone, but she seems to be doing much better now. We stopped and saw her before coming home.

Well, enough of that. I will check back tomorrow some time.

Thanks all, you are all so kind and caring. I haven't really been in a mood to do much on here. But I did do a layout for the challenge on Star. He was such a good little guy. It will sure be different being at mom's playing cards and not have him come over and put his chin on my knee and greeting us at the door excited to see us. I know Mom is really going to be lonely too. Eventually we will get her another dog. But need to wait until she is ready to accept having a dog other than Star around.

I was away on a buying trip! Well, I have everything on order for our "PRO SHOP" at the bowling alley. I've got a nice selection of bowling balls and assories. My cousin Michael who really IS a pro bowler(Bowls all over the world) Owns a bowling Ally in My hometown and he started a program for "Special" people. He called me to tell me that Emily comes from a pro bowl family he will make her a pro bowler if it KILLS him LOL So I was informed that as soon as she takes her first steps he's gonna start lessons! So when she is old enough and we are all on the geriatric teams she can push all our wheel chairs!:eek:

Don't forget about me!!!!! I want to bowl. I love bowling. My average used to be 160-but I haven't bowled in a long time. I don't throw many gutter balls, honest! Besides I could yank all the permits y'all. Bowl and Glow used to be called midnight bowling in my time. You turn all the lights off and they put a colored pin in the rack, if you get a color head pin and get a strike you win a special prize. That was my favorite time to bowl. Don't forget the old fashions-with olives-soooo good. I am soooo glad that this place is coming alive again. I know we wanted to wait for Jazz to get better, and for Onie to get back--so now we can get this bash on the go!!!! I can pull my peanut bars out of the freezer finally. Crops you can be on my team! We need more teams to get a good league started. :):)
