It's amazing we have survived, all kids in general! I remember going down a water slide at a swimming pool with a ring round my waist as I couldn't swim. I thought that the ring would hold me up like it did when I was in the water. When I entered the water I went under. My arms were over the top but my head and body were under the water. After a while another swimmer pulled me up. I thought I'd had it. My cousin was by the side of the pool laughing uncontrollably. I was about 8 an it's still so clear in my mind. If that person hadn't pulled me up I would have drowned.

I have a funny story that kinda goes along with this...only thing is that a bunch of us kids tried to save someone...It was a hot summer day..I can almost feel how hot it was..me,my cousin Stan and a bunch of the neighborhood kids were playing ... in the neighbors back yard there was a drainage ditch and a huge drainage pipe..the little ditch kept water in it and there was a little bridge sorta thing over it to get to the neighbors garage..this particular day the bridge was our pirate ship..I think we had made someone walk the plank over the side into the ditch...(water was only about ankle deep) the dead priate went off on his own to investigate the pipe...he yelled.."theres a body in here"..we all went running to the pipe and had a look see...all of us kids agreeded it was a body for sure...I went and got my mom...finally got her to come look at the dead body..wonder of wonders she thought the same thing...my mothers brother was the Public Works Commisioner for the city..an elected position..and drainage ditch's were part of his job..mother called him and he brought a crew, the police.. and I think the newspaper got hold of the story and they were there too...imagine our excitement...we were going to be famous...by this time a huge crowd of neighbors had gathered..the men from the city went in the pipe to get the dead body...I dont remember a CSI person going in first...hehe..waiting was terrible..everyones eyes were glued on the entrance to the pipe...and all at once there is one of the workers coming out laughing his head off...in his hands was part of our dead body...a big bunch of leaves!!!!! I guess at this point in time my uncle...the elected official..really felt about an inch high..but all was not lost..all those men and the police and my uncle..who had looked in the pipe first.. had agreeded that it could be a person..but the pile of leaves was so big it would have stopped up the drain and flooded the ditch if we had a good rain..so the pipe was cleaned out...we all had some excitement and us kids thought it was a wonderful day of play... my uncle was re-elected..it was a story that has been told over and over in our family and always made us laugh..in fact stan and I were talking about it the other day...LOL both of us still agree it looked like a body!!! :eek: :eek:

Those drainage ditches can get you into trouble too!!!! This is what happened to me..... My parents were Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leaders. One summer the Scout Troup had a picnic at Irvine Park in Southern California. That was a huge huge park with everything imaginable to do there. Use kids got bored so we went exploring. We found a drainage pipe. Someone had the dumb idea to go crawl through it and to see where we would come out. Hey that was really cool, so we went and got the rest of the kids. Yes,we were playing follow the leader on our hands and knees through the drainage pipe. That pipe must of been about half mile long. WELL, one kid didn't want to go back through the drainage pipe so he went back to the picnic where the parents were at. The kid squealed on us. By the time we got to the end of the pipe, which came out in a big revine, all the parents were waiting for us. There was of been about 30 of us kids and our parents were really mad at us. Now picture this......as we came out of the pipe, a parent would snatch up their kid and spank their butt..... one after another, the whole bunch of us got our butts paddled right there in the park. If that happened today, all those parents would of been arrested for child abuse. I promise you, I never did something like that again. LOL :eek:

I didn't know if I should start a new thread or not for this...lol...But I just wanted to pass along a great BIG thank you to everyone out there in MaxVille that has commented on my stuff...I have really been sick these past few days, but still working my brain off for new ideas...If you ever read my thread when I first started here, it was titled something new about me, then you would understand what I am going thru...I know there are alot of people out there worse off then me...So I am not asking for any sympathy here...It's just really nice to come on here and have peeps like you keeping a smile on my face...
I have been dealing with so many medical issues all my life, that sometimes, I need a place like this to come too, just to escape my "real" world...Thanks so much for being so sweet and encouraging....:)

Girls..Im having one of those if it rains it pours months..last week my dryer went out, and the drainage pipe in the laundry room stopped up..the kitchen sink is stopped up too...the freezer stopped freezing and some of my meat ruined...and now the air conditioner is blowing hot air.!!!! I can wash if I stand there while its going thru the rinse cycle stopping and starting and letting the water drain down and not run over..but as for the rest...well my budget doesnt allow for repairs this month..so Im sitting here having a pity party...I will get my head out of the sand eventually and as Scarlett O'Hara said.. Tomorrow is another day...hehehe just had to wine to someone I guess...I think I will lock the door and have a good cry and then I will feel better about things..

Hey Jazz, I feel for you...I have had one of those months too...My dryer went out two days ago....which means if I do laundry, I can go by my neighbor to dry my clothes...But she is my "rambling, story-telling" Aunt...lol...So the outside will work for me right now...I have had more medical issues to deal with, I haven't been sleeping for more then 4 hrs a night, and on top of all that, my kids are done with school in two days...lol...Since I was 15, I have carried a black cloud over my head, and not even a strong gust of wind can seem to blow it away from me...but I'm still here, laughing with the best of you guys...

WoW Crops they do break up early. I thought uk holidays were long. Amy has finished college as her exams are over otherwise she'd be there until 3rd week in July. Only good bit is I don't have to get her up in the mornings. I am still getting James up though , for work and he's 21!

As the Mayor of this town it is my responsibility to remind everyone that licenses and fees are due by end of month. If you want to continue selling your merchandise you have to have a current up to date license to sell. Who owns the bed and breakfast? You owe hotel fees too!! Please peeps get your license applications and fees in. This year liquor licenses are $250.00; cig. license is 500.00-but I may not grant any cig licenses this year;they are bad for you. Food licenses are only $75.00 this year; but the hotel license is $650.00. We have to get our town revenue built up so we can make some improvements around here. Sorry can't sell any more dead plants till I receive the application and fees. Anyone houses any apes have to pay apesy fees too. You have to license them the same as you do your dogs and cats. If I had one, I'd let ya have it, this delightful cake was given to us as a pressie. Tom helped our neighbour about a week back when she started having an epileptic fit. She bought him the cake as a little thank you for getting her husband and 911.

I have cooked up a few meals and put them in the freezer for anyone who needs to eat. I have also left my recipe book on the top shelf over the sink so if some one could fill in for me until I get back I would appreciate it. The cellar is stocked with vino, and I installed a new coffee machine ( it makes a great latte)

Oh this coffee is wonderful! My favorite is the French Vanilla. Thank you Nanwu for the suggesting the new coffee machine. My goodness, doesn't anyone else around here keep the town in food. Okay I stopped by the b&b again, there are a bunch of meals in the big freezer, (have put instructions on the labels for thawing and cooking). There should be enough there to feed everyone until I can come back full time. I made up some lunch box snacks for all the kids and some goodies for the apes too (don't mix them up as the ape food tends to send kids wild). The vino (or at least whats left of it) is locked away until I get back, there is plenty of non-alcoholic drinks in the basement so enjoy them!

Aw gee thanks all! Granny, even though you didn't know I was gone, I will make sure to stock the duck tape! Oh and Granny, I finally got to taste a Mojita (How ever it is spelled). The night before we left to come back, we were visiting my my Aunt and Cousins in Maryland. We went to a restaraunt by the Chesapeak. My Cousins Husband drinks them, so I got to taste it. Not bad!

A little accident happened while we were there. A family at the table across from us had a little girl about 3 years old. Apparently they were talking and didn't notice her wandering. She wandered down to the dock and some how fell in the water. We didn't see her fall. All of a sudden everyone was heading toward the dock. A customer at a table next to the water where she fell jumped out of his seat and into the water after her. He grabbed her and held her up out of the water while some one grabbed her and pulled her out. She started crying right away, so we knew she was ok. But that was scary.

Her Mother had gone down to get her and carried her back to the table across from us. After a couple of minutes the little girl half crying said "I wanna take a bath". Everyone laughed. What happened wasn't funny, but everyone was just relieved that she was ok. She was so lucky that guy was quick at jumping in the water. The dock was high out of the water and the water was deep.

Never had that happen at a dinner before!

It takes about 4 hours to get to Maryland from here, but well worth the trip, the beaches are sooo much cleaner in Maryland then at the Jersey shore, which the closest one is 1 hour away.(Sandy Hook) The farther south the longer. Okay, here is some more on Scrapsville......... Marion is our local shrink (Dunkster). Granny sees her regularly for ink blot test. Marion has purchased a new boat and trailer so Granny is supporting that. I am the owner of the B&B and Nanwu started working for me because the B&B was the local party place. Granny does have an issue with her stinky old mattress, which she has been known to drag around town with her. It is believed that it is full of money OR Steve's wife is stuck in there. The Apes are guarding the mattress. We have arranged to still the mattress and dispose of it but those monkey's are way too fast. During the American Idol show, we had an Idol party weekly complete with Steve pole dancing. Granny is a lush too. The town was having a shortage of ROOT BEER cause most were getting drunk on ROOT BEER, until Nanwu stocked up on the hidden Vino. Eye hasn't been visiting in awhile but she has a room at the B&B always reserved. She likes the "Monkey Room" where we have monkeys swinging. OF course Jazz keeps us all on our toes and up to date on the current happenings. Sue's hardware store keeps running short of duck tape. Some of our residences are "snow birds" so they pop in and out when they're in town to visit. We've run off our Sheriff and his Deputy. Granny has an cousin who favors her in looks and has gotten into a lot of trouble. Crops puts out the monthly magazine but I believe it's now a BI monthly. Oh, we have a Town Square and a watering hole in town. So, that's a little more to add.

Well ok-I should have known you can make your own fun!! I truly hope you have a good time-at least you get to get away for awhile, and have some relaxation time. I hope you get some really good bear pictures. My boss has a cabin up in norhtern wisconsin and it sits right next to one of the protected state forests and they have a family of bears that come visit their land all the time. So they have to be careful to make sure they don't leave any food out for them to smell-because they will break into the cabin if they smell it. To me it's a little intimidating, but it would be so awesome to see them from a distance. She also has a peacock living in her backyard back home here. Have fun crops! I'm really gonna miss you! :)

Manatee-your mother-in-law has the same disease I have. :) I have 5 cats for the same reason she has hers. As each of my baby's grew into a cat, I missed having a baby around thus another was added to my family. Eventhough I saved all of my "children" because they were rescues, I finally had to just say stop. It was so hard for about a year after the baby of my 5 turned 1. I wanted another so bad it almost felt like I had an addiction. After about a year, that nagging to get a baby kinda faded. My baby is now 9 and although I'd love to have more, I know I need to just enjoy and love the ones I have. And, because of my "addiction" to cats, that is why my store here was built! Now, I can have as many as I like.

She has company from England for several weeks! Sure glad they decided to come by plane and not the cruise line! I think Marion talked them out of the cruise ship idea! Yep think these will do .... ~picks out a marble pestle and mortar to start mixing the secret ingredients, slowly and carefully this, that and the other is poured in. Suddenly a sneeze builds up and ...... ATISHOOOOOOOOOO ....... powder billows up in the air like fairy dust. Wondrous colours of the rainbow with little teeny weeny sparkly bits gently start to fall but with a wave of the hand the powdery mixture obediently directs itself back in the mortar.

Looks at the jar labeled "eye of newt" ..... "nah don't think so this time, the last time I used that the police officer ....... nope don't want to ponder too long on what happened there."

I'll finish up with a little sweet stuff to make it pleasant to swallow and that should do it. Just put this label on so all know its for knzus.
There perfect cure for the common cold or flu.

"Just hope the side effects aren't that bad. The last person who had some of this is still being looked over by the FBI X files for glowing in the dark. Ah well Knzus shouldn't need a night light for a week or two"

Now it's just the brain drips (you know, runny nose, etc.), so it'll probably just be a slight cold to finish off...that I can handle. And here I thought I'd be sick for days more. Hubby feeling better, too.

I think the weather has had a lot to do with it...so rainy here for so long...I could have sworn I heard a voice in the night tell me to build an ark.

Dang it, I still gotta perfect that potion .... I do need a lab and the ole barn looks just the right place, that way Jazz has NO fear of being experimented on nor glowing in the near future. The ole boy that taught me had a long white beard and a pointy hat. A very sweet guy but he mumbled so much. I learned his language though and since then I seem to be able to do all sorts of stuff I wasn't able to before.:confused:
