Sorry Crops, not up to helping just yet. Still have a fever. But it has gone down. Just stopped in to check out what is going on! Boy, I have over 40 messages in my E-mail. Almost all from SBM. wow. I usually empty periodically through out the day. But with being sick, I havent felt like doing anything. And yes, I am drinking water! It is what I usually drink anyway.

Well I am going to go back to my couch for now. If I feel up to it, I will check back later.

I could sneeze and cough all over those apes...think that would help? Don't forget we have the WD40 we can scare them with...hold it up, flick a lighter and voila! -- light show for us, scary fire for them. Just be sure to point the nozzle away from yourself! :D

I am so excited, some one sent me a email with 101 uses for WD40. There are only 43 listed her and she didn't send me the rest! But there is probably another 58 out there.

Here are some of the uses:
WD-40

01) Protects silver from tarnishing.
02) Removes road tar and grime from cars.
03) Cleans and lubricates guitar strings.
04) Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making it slippery.
05) Keeps flies off cows.
06) Restores and cleans chalkboards.
07) Removes lipstick stains.
08) Loosens stubborn zippers.
09) Untangles jewelry chains.
10) Removes stains from stainless steel sinks.
11) Removes dirt and grime from the barbecue grill.
12) Keeps ceramic/terra cotta garden pots from oxidizing.
13) Removes tomato stains from clothing.
14) Keeps glass shower doors free of water spots.
15) Camouflages scratches in ceramic and marble floors.
16) Keeps scissors working smoothly.
17) Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes
18) It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for
those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm
the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off.
Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.
19) Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed
quickly! Use WD-40!
20) Gives a children's play gym slide a shine for a super fast slide.
21) Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on
riding mowers.
22) Rids kids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises.
23) Lubricates tracks in sticking home windows and makes them easier to
open.
24) Spraying an umbrella stem makes it easier to open and close.
25) Restores and cleans padded leather dashboards in vehicles, as well
as vinyl bumpers.
26) Restores and cleans roof racks on vehicles.
27) Lubricates and stops squeaks in electric fans.
28) Lubricates wheel sprockets on tricycles, wagons, and bicycles for
easy handling.
29) Lubricates fan belts on washers and dryers and keeps them running
smoothly.
30) Keeps rust from forming on saws and saw blades, and other tools.
31) Removes splattered grease on stove.
32) Keeps bathroom mirror from fogging.
33) Lubricates prosthetic limbs.
34) Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell).
35) Removes all traces of duct tape.
36) Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve
arthritis pain.
37) Florida's favorite use is: "cleans and removes love bugs from
grills and bumpers."
38) The favorite use in the state of New York WD-40 protects the Statue
of Liberty from the elements.
39) WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a LITTLE on live bait or lures and you
will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than
the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in
mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are
not allowed in some states.
40) Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and
stops the itch.
41) WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark
and wipe with a clean rag.
42) Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed
and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the
lipstick spots with WD-40 and re-wash. Presto! Lipstick is gone!
43) If you sprayed WD-40 on a damp distributor cap, it would displace the
moisture and allow the car to start.

P. S. The basic ingredient is FISH OIL.

Hi everyone,
Sorry I have been away .. life outside of SBM took me away for a while [father has been diagnosed with carcinoid cancer] and it looks like I missed something big. I just hope all of you are ok. Hate to see something upset you lot.

I'm attempting to use a 3D modeling program to make a picture that I hope will brighten your day. Might take me a week or 2 but will get there in the end. Its to do with Scrapsville and the very 1st scene that caught my imagination.

You have all been in my mind over the past week or two and memories of this thread have often put a smile on my face in hard times.

Seems like the bottom fell our here with SBM..Im just sorry that it has worked out the way it has but I hope all of us here can keep our family intack and not let all this come between us..its not SBM that makes this such a great forum but the people here in Scrapsville..we sure can't let one person destroy that...I know how much better my life is since I've been a part of this forum..the comments and encouragement have given me incentive to try different things and have given me self confidence..when Im not here I think about everyone and wonder how things are with them..when I went to the hospital I knew you would all be thinking of me and praying for me..its been the best anti-depressant..better than any pill..SBM is just the instrument that brought us all together..we have sure helped the program become what it is and the voices of the majority should have been acted on..something different should have been arranged for the people that want to post a book at one time..my my I fell asleep sitting here..LOL guess I better get off my soapbox and go to bed...hope things are better here today..sure hope all you sick ones are feeling better soon..take care of youself and dont try to do too much when you are feeling better or you will relaspe..hugs and love to everyone..

MAGGIE MAE, I do you hope you reconsider putting your LO back on I like so many have always enjoyed looking at them,

I agree with you on this Crops - Maggie Mae, your layouts are so fun to look at, especially lately, I find myself just waiting for more of your wildlife ones so I can learn more!!!

If anyone else has noticed, the mega-posting has seemed to slow down...maybe she has had her fun and will move on. We can hope and pray!

Jazz - you brough tears to my eyes talking about your friends here being the best antidepressant - better than any drug. You know, that's the way it's supposed to be.....friends can cure it all! I got the neatest email about girlfriends...I'll see if I can copy and paste...

A girl friend is never farther away than needing
her can reach. When you have to walk that lonesome
valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women
in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you
on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the
rules and walk beside you...Or come in and carry you
out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law,sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended
family, all bless our life! The world wouldn't be
the same without women, and neither would I. When we
began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea
of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead.

Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to post this message after reading your concerns over postings in the gallery. The last thing Scrapbook MAX! wants to do is be unfair or disappoint its community members - I know as I have the privilege to work for Scrapbook MAX! and I just know from all of our meetings and plans that the members are the most important consideration- that's why I like working for SBMAX. I hope that the following explanation will clear up any misunderstandings or hard feelings.

The heart of the gallery is the free Member Galleries that every registered forum user is entitled to. We promote your individual member gallery as the place where you can upload as many pictures as you like presuming that you want to show off your layouts to friends and family. In the User's Guide, we tell you that a great way to keep in touch with friends and family is to upload to your member gallery, and then send a link to your friends so that they can view your work.

As you all know, there is also a Recent Photos section in the gallery. Basically, this is a section built into the community bulletin board software that we use that automatically captures the most recent uploads to the gallery (from the member galleries and contest galleries) and displays them until other layouts are posted. How long your layout is on this common space depends entirely on how many people are uploading on a given day and how many layouts each person uploads. We can't really limit how many layouts from one individual appear here because then we are limiting how many layouts a person can put in their own gallery; we want the member galleries to be the place where you can share your family pictures, etc. with your family and friends and not worry about being limited.

However, I do understand what has happened and the feelings that accompany it. The Scrapbook MAX! community has become so tight knit and close, that the Recent Photos section has served almost like a "bulletin board" for its own members where you can view each others work. I think its fantastic that you all take such interest in each others work. I know I myself have benefitted from comments and suggestions on my own layouts, and have certainly found inspiration in the gallery. Unfortunately, the Recent Photos section in the community forums software that we use isn't actually set up like a bulletin board and can't be modified from our end -we can and have modified other aspects of the forums and galleries to accomodate suggestions and our growing community, but our only option with the Recent Photos section is to let it run automatically or turn it right off. So, when our community grows and more people are posting (which we think is fortunate!), individual layouts will not linger very long in the Recent Photos section which, as I explained, is automatically generated and which we can't modify. The best that we can do is provide a place in the community forums where you can post your layouts, and people can reply and comment on them - here you can also put a link to your layout in the gallery where they can rate it in the "traditional thumbs-up" manner that we've come accustomed to.

I just felt compelled to post this as I know from experience that Scrapbook MAX! does its best to make the community friendly, fun and accomodating to the most people it can. When we started, we focused on how the Scrapbook MAX! gallery could accomodate people who wanted to stay in touch with family and friends across distances. Now that the Scrapbook MAX! community has become a family of its own, we are working on solutions that will accomodate this new reality. I think the Look At My Layout (http://www.scrapbookmax.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18) section goes in that direction. I hope that this explanation of how the gallery works helps. We are limited to an extent by the software, but we are also able to come up with solutions, often based on your suggestions, that get around these limitations.

Sincerely,
Karin

And yes, I also became frustrated when there were so many pictures from the same person. However, because 99.99999% of this community is a treasure that I do not want to lose, my only suggestion is that we look at the good things and try not to dwell on the bad.

Hope noone leaves because of this.

Karin, Thank you for your letter.

I think what would have made everyone happy would have been a simple "Verbal Rule" stating please be considerate of fellow members by limiting how many uploads you do per day. Other sites do this. We all want friends our family members to be able to view our hard work. But we also want to be able to see other members work to cheer them on and to get ideas for future layouts for ourselves. I don't know if the new area in the forum will work, because it is going to get bogged down and we will have to search through to see if we missed something. Just like the embellishments and Templates. Although I do appreciate any attempts to make improvements to the site.

I am not a programmer but an idea would be to Change the way the members gallery works. ( or add a new one altogether)

Have a separate members area (for each member) for family and friends to view just our work. Any uploads from outside sites could be uploaded to that area instead of the main gallery. This would resolve the the big mess we just had. You could still have the link line from the main gallery to the members gallery. Maybe have an option to upload from Project area to either the members gallery or main gallery or both.

Hope that made sense.

To sacannon,

Thanks for your letter. I'm not a programmer either, so I'm not sure if your suggestion can be implemented. I know that our techie folks will explore the idea if it's a possibility. I'll forward this suggestion to them myself so they hear about it as soon as possible.

All I can say for sure is that we'll be watching the Look At My Layout forum closely to monitor how it's working, and continue to explore and try out options that will be best for the most people.

Thanks again - don't hesitate to post your suggestions in the Suggestions forum (http://www.scrapbookmax.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4). That's the most direct way to get a suggestion logged and acted upon (if it's possible). We can't always act on every suggestion, but we read and file them all and act on the ones that are possible and improve everyone's experience.

Karin :)

Marian put this so well. Your explanation, Karin, goes a long way in helping people understand that the software was dictating what SBM could do and not just admin decisions. We've never had anyone abuse the gallery so much before and maybe never again. We hope, anyway! Thank you for taking an educational approach to this problem. It helps.

Lost in all this mess is the fact that you did some very nice layouts and have a lovely family. If you notice this post, I would like you to know that it was never about the quality or subject of your layouts, just the quantity. Your family looks very nice and the children are adorable!

... Have a separate members area (for each member) for family and friends to view just our work ...

Hello,

This feature already exists in our gallery, though it may not be obvious (or maybe i'm just missing the boat on this one?):

Sacannon, for you specifically, everything you ever post to the gallery under your username goes here:

http://www.scrapbookmax.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2066&sl=s

I got to that by clicking on Gallery, then Member Galleries, then on 'S'. I then searched for you and clicked on the thumbnail above your name. The resulting page is the same as the link above.

Everyone has this individual gallery hosting all image/albums that they've posted. This link is perfect to share with friends/family.

Is that what you had in mind?

Desmond.

sacannon
01-17-2007, 01:24 PM
No, I am aware that there is a members gallery, I was talking about changing the way that it works.

Right now you have to upload layouts to the main gallery to have them in your members Gallery. I am suggesting the reverse. Upload to your Members Gallery. Then it wouldn't over populate the Main Gallery. You could choose which layouts individually to put in the Main gallery. In the recent situation there were over 100 uploaded that took up all the space. That is why everyone was upset. She was uploading from another website not from her Personal project area of SBM from what I understand. She wanted to get them in for her family to see. which nocked everyone elses out of the main viewing area.

If you were able to upload into your own gallery, instead of the main gallery, then we wouldn't have that problem.

Desmond
01-17-2007, 01:35 PM
Oh, I understand. Currently that's not possible (that i'm aware of), and I don't see that happening any time soon (though it is an excellent suggestion!).

I think the morale seems much better here today thank goodness..thank you Karin for your explaination of why SBM took the action that it did when this all began..I hope that in the future if anything happens that upsets the members so much, you will take this approach first..it was an unfortunate incident and I hope we all learned something from it and I hope SBM realizes just how important the gallery and this forum are to this family..I believe there are lots of members that dont participate in the forum but I think they read them and I hope they gained some insite and take notice of the feelings of us all..I wish they would post and be a part of the Scrapsville family..:)

Hello Desmond! So nice of you to join in on Scrapville we have been waiting for you to join in but not under these circumstances!!! I am not sure if you are missing the whole point of this or you are understanding it and just cant do a thing about it. We ALL like to go to the gallery and see what is new in there everyday a few times a day. At that point we comment and look around as we like, but if I person uploads 100 LO all the time how is anyone suppose to see anything new in there? I dont care if she uploads 1000 if she could do it to her own scrapbook, but it is not right when we call this a COMMUNITY
and personally it was done out of spite, for reasons unknown. That is what is upsetting everyone. We all work so hard on these layout and have fun with it and it is soo nice to see EVERYONEs work not just one person. Having a new Look what I did, just sounds to me like a child putting there artwork on a refridgerator at home. We are not here to brag or really looking for comments (although they are nice) but to put it in the gallery and then put in there,.... I am sorry I just dont see the point. Going to a Gallery to me means different art works from different people from different parts of the world.
Isn't that what a Gallery is suppose to be??? I for one will not be appologizing to her for anything and if you feel you need to take this off I will understand, the only people i will appologize to is the wonder people in the community that this has affected, for that reason only. I know you are not asking for an appology, but I feel they need it! Now I am done adding in my 2 cents.

I know it's not what you're asking for, but it sure is a nice way to get others to view your gallery ...

Desmond.

Thanks for that Desmond, but that doesn't resolve the problem. Hopefully for now that situation is over and things will get back to normal. But it will happen again if someone else wants to do the same thing.

Crops - I think I get what you meant in your post....for some users, they just want to get their stuff loaded so that OUTSIDE family and friends can access their own personal gallery. These particular users are not interested in becoming part of the SBM COMMUNITY - they don't want comments and they don't care if anyone else other than their OWN family and friends see their pages.

There is a way to load these pages without them going into the community gallery (or recent photos section that we all go into to see our SMB member friends' work). If you set up an album FIRST - make it PRIVATE - then upload to that album, the images you upload DO NOT go into the "recent photos" community gallery. Technically, the user in question could have done this, and may have done this had we known in advance (I just figured it out myself) and told her about this option.

Maybe, if we notice this happening again, someone could message the user letting them know about the private feature.

Just my own musings - because I didn't hear this brought up before.

Kristy we tried to be fair and understanding towards Northern. We pm'd her in the first place acknowledging the fact that she did not realise what a problem she was causing. We all understood. She chose to take it personally and all this ill feeling has occurred as a result.

We, that is the old gels on here, hate all thsi bad feeling. We welcomed her and encouraged her to take part, she chose to blenk us or post childish reactions.

This has only resulted because of the reaction of a selfish person.

Sorry Max if the truth is not acceptable. I expect this will be deleted .

I know I'm only coming in here on the end of this and have not seen the whole issue but feel a suggestion coming based on what I have read.

An observation........ If the layouts were loaded up for friends and family to see why were they loaded into a public album and not a private one?

A suggestion ......... I know SBM doesn't want to limit the number of layouts you can add to an album/gallery and I don't want them to either. Would it not be prudent though to make a rule for members who have a large number of layouts to load for friends and family to make sure the album is private before loading. This does not stop people loading as many layouts as they want and it does give the photo gallery a more realistic snap shot of who has loaded recently, rather than being flooded by one person. If someone wants to load 50/100/200 layouts in one go and wants them to be available to all of us, is it possible to put them into a private album and then link that private album to a forum post? Everyone still has access to the layouts, but it doesn't flood the photo gallery.

Another thought, if someone loads a whole album, do all pages show in the photo gallery? Is it possible to just put the 1st page in the photo gallery and then link it to the album?

Just thoughts going through my mind and if the suggestions have already been brought up and explained, I apologize. :D

I just want to say a very big thank you for all your kind words.

I've cried a few times reading the posts, not with sadness but with happiness and hope. You all remind me of the reason for one carcinoid foundation has chosen a sunflower as their symbol.

~ The sunflower symbolizes constancy as it turns to follow the sun - you are constantly here for the ones who need a talk, encouragement, a smile/laugh, hope, a get well soon ... the list is endless. I have seen it many times over the last month.
~ The sunflower symbolizes power, warmth, and nourishment - These I have felt since the 1st footstep I made in to this community. The power to create, the warmth of your welcomes and the nourishment of ideas.
~ The sunflower symbolizes longevity - Even though I have only been here for a short time, I feel like I have been here forever and that the future does have hope.

I know if I ever need to vent, laugh, cry or just rant I can do it here.

Thank you so very much for being here.

HEY Muma,
You brought me back to reality! It is people like you who make this a wonderful place to be!!! And for that reason alone, is good enough to continue on in here. Being part of a large family in Scrapville here has got to have some ups and downs, so the last day was a downer, time to bring it up again!!!!
We are always welcome to laugh, cry, yell, scream at the top of your lungs,
smile, encourage, sing, write a poem, stick out your tongue, wink and be sarcastic!!! and soooo much more! We are all here for each other and yesterday just proved it!!! We stick together thru think and thin, Thats what makes Scrapville the place to be, besides the wateringhole LOL We will not let one person ruin that for us all! If we do she wins and we will lose much more! So now I think it time to get ourselves together get a good night sleep and start over tomorrow with some Humor, a song to sing and get back to why were all here in the first place! TO HAVE FUN!!!! So good night my friends I love ya all! See you in the morning!!!
PS I am tired of being mushy this has got to STOP!!! LOL

I'm stuck, stuck I say ...... my brain is on strike I need ideas about a picture I mentioned earlier.

Basic concept. The 1st mental image I have from this thread. Granny in hospital, on a mattress overflowing with money, poisoned cookies, turkeys [how they got there I have no clue but they are in the song].

But my brain has gone on strike, what things do you find in a hospital room?
Here is a list so far.
Bed
Tray
Bed pan
Zimmer frame / walker
False teeth in a glass
a little furniture
Oatmeal cookies [cant forget them]
Granny [the most important thing of all] armed with chains n blocks and maybe a shovel as well.
Money filled matress [sorry I take back the last statement, this is the most important thing of all]
commode

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

This image will be created in a 3D model program and then rendered to a jpg or some such similar format. So most objects can be modeled and added to the scene.

I think most important is the bed.. if you can get it bent up like a hospitals! lol.. and what about that rolling tray thing? that convienently slides over your bed?

Don't forget the arsenic-filled hypodermic needle that I saw in Dr. Marion's office.

Here we all go....1...2...3...SMILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (((hugs))) :p :)

That reminds me....we need more smiley face choices on here to choose from! Esp. the animated ones like they have on other forums.

This is totally off the wall, but I got so tickled at the comment "hanging out of the folded bed"! How many of you saw the I Love Lucy episode many years ago where Tennessee Ernie Ford was a guest star? He was trying to sleep in a rollaway bed and it folded up on him! Add that to the fact that he was looking the the "out house" in the apt.! Cracks me up everytime I think about it! :) Ok, everybody LAUGH now!!!!!

I just had a brainstorm! Sometimes that's very good and sometimes that's very bad! :) I thought that maybe since several like to make cards, plaques, etc with each other's pictures on them we need to have high resolution jpegs of our favorite pics of ourselves to use in these projects. The small ones on here come out sorta blurred. What would you think of posting a favorite pic of yourself to this thread that could be saved and used when needed? I think it would make the projects look even nicer. What do you think?

Ok, sounds good, I always wanted to be in the movies!!!! There is just a couple of things I insist on.... The bed pan must be pink, with purple pocketdots! And the money in the mattress must be $100 bills, cause that is the only thing I save!

That being said, I think that Smile should open up a furniture store for Scrapsville, since she has demonstrated an amazing talent for refurbishing and fixing couches. And in her honor, I think she should be the one to name it! We need a place to buy our furniture.

And while we are at it, we also need a thrift shop around here! But it must be run by an honest, scruppulous, clean, resourful member of the community.

releived to see that they had just hidden in my arm pits. So my advice to you ladies is to tuck them in your PJ's before you go to sleep. Off course there is always duct tape

Thnk you and yes I was shocked Jazz, but her new husband is one of my old people lol, so I know him pretty well. I've seen him every day for 12 years! He's moving out now though, I am glad I would have found it difficult to have them as part of my job.

I don't know if you can see back. I know they show photos but I'm not sure if they are ready. I'll have to keep checking.

Love ya too...hope your on the mend xxxxxxx

Eng - Big congrats to you and your family ..... I'll remember the date though cos its me birthday today :D

Finally got my angel with hidden horns to go take a nap. She was up until 1am last night .... and a little whiny wench this morning. So hopefully when she wakes up she'll be an angel and we can go out for a large steak. Mmmmmm

Hopefully gonna get the full version of SBM today as a pressie. Just not sure when.

But the bestest ever birthday pressie in the whole wide world is that my Dads cancer is not advanced enough to be life threatening. He will probably die of old age 1st. This cancer is very very slow growing and can be treated to slow it even more or stop it or surgically removed if in a cluster. Neither way cures but when he asked how long he had, the doc replied .... oh, this wont get ya. The ball is rolling and he is in the hands of a very good London specialist ...... Thank you God, I am so so relieved, I know the journey is only beginning but its gonna be a little easier than we thought.

Thank you girls for keeping me smiling through all of this.

Oh that is such wonderful news muma. My Mum who got married today had breast cancer and she survived. She woke up after the op to be told that it was malignant. That was 20 years ago so she has been very lucky. Things were not as advanced as they are now. Your Dad will enjoy many more years I'm sure and life becomes so much more valuable. A very Happy Birthday and thank you for your good wishes. Hope the rest of the day is as wonderful for you xxxxxxxxxx

Its a very strange feeling, I was being very calm about all of this, I was not making judgments until I knew more news. I was staying strong for me Dad n all that but I have cried more today after I heard the good news than any day since I was told. I feel like I can breath again.

Amelia, I'm so glad for you and your dad. That is really wonderful news. Nice job on the embies also!

Ok, folks, I just so the apes take off on a semi full of chocolates. They were headed for Poopsville, 50 miles north of Scrapsville. I was going to give chase, but there was something funny dripping off the back of the semi.

What ever happen to the suggestion of Smiles opening a furniture store, and having our own thrift shop in town?

And hey, how did my weightwatcher lady end up in a line up on the post office? Where's the sheriff?

:p

Ok Finally I am back!!! MUMA what a great gift for you! I am soooo happy for you! that is the best news I have heard all week!!!! I actually got the chills reading about your dad, WHAT GREAT NEWS you sure have alot to celebrate!!!! Get a rootbeer from me while your out and put it on me tab!
See miracles work when you have enough people praying for you I truly believe that!!! And happy to hear they are working in your favor! I am not a church going person, but i do my share of praying, and thank the Lord everyday for everything!!!! That is why we must make today the best day ever! Cause tomorrow never comes!
OK I done with the MUSHY STUFF! TIME TO PARTY!!!!!!
Granny Smile tried opening a furniture store but she is stuck under an entertainment center right now, so I dont think she will continue with that!
Before that she tried selling her table but it didnt have any legs cause her dog chewed them off, So I dont think that is a good business for her!
Your weightwatcher lady has stolen The schwan truck! SHe ATE EVERTHING IN THERE!!! Some weightwatcher friend she turned out to be!!!!

And dont pretend you dont know where the deputy is we all know about your affair its all over scrapville so stop denying it!!!!! And fill us in with the details!!!!

Works for me, Jazz... If she want to open the thrift shop, more power to her. Must keep these kids working, or they do nothing but drink root canals beer and eat popcorn. Cottonpickers!

Crops... Counfounded, woman, cut it out! Mr. Granny is starting to get suspicious. This is not funny! I'm too darn old and tired to have an affair. I can't even keep up with the old fart I got at home, so get a life. Pick on someone else. No offense, Bobby, is just not going to happen!

*aaaaaaaaaaachooooooooo* Ugh, sorry if I splattered anyone with that...oh, wait, crops, I got some in your hair - here, let me pick it out...durn sticky stuff. Just can't seem to get rid of my cold. :( *sniffle* It made me miserable yesterday, and I had to drive my son down to Wichita for his tooth surgery, so I really felt like you-know-what by the time I got back home. Sorry I missed your birthday Muma and the party - but late HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you with all the best wishes and thoughts! *blows nose, grabs the 100th box of kleenex and rips it open* It's snowing here - supposed to have something like 6 inches by the time tomorrow rolls around - and this on top of the 2 inches of sleet that hasn't melted off. *achooooooo* Okay, that's enough for me...I'm gonna go take some more cold medicine and get back to bed for a while. Gotta get over this since the kids are coming Monday for my own birthday...something about taking me out to eat at my fave restaurant, etc. etc. I can just see still feeling like something the apes dragged down the street and not enjoying my own day! ARG! Later, guys!

Are all ya'll that addicted to pms? :)

We have received many great tips and ideas there. Some encouragement on personal things in our lives. I have personally met people who share experiences with me that would prefer not disclosing for everyone. Sort of a Sister Hood! It's a place to send private emails to someone who might be sick, going through divorce, lost a love one, etc etc. I have gotten some great advise on things through the PM. No it's not an addiction but it is a Safe Haven for many. :)

We have had the windstorms, lots of people killed. Trees being blown over, rooves being blown off, chimneys blown off, lorry's blown over. Saddest on so far is a wall was blown down on to a little boy only 2 years old and he was killed. I thought it had stopped but my son came in in th early hours and said a tree had blown down up the road. We never used to suffer from things like this. Our seasons have changed dramatically. Very, very frightening.

Yes, we had high winds down here too, we were lucky though, only several roof tiles off at work. Doesnt sound too serious that does it? I didnt think so either till I saw one had fallen into the courtyard here and smashed a large concrete bird bath to smithereens. Thank god there was no-one stood out there feeding the birds at the time!

Someone else was opening a door and it burst open whizzing them round to the reverse side of the door. They weren't hurt thank goodness. She was laughing and rang up the local radio station!

We had a windstorm here in Western Michigan a few years ago - it was like a tornado (which are QUITE rare in MI) but the winds were straight-line at about 135 mph. Sounds similar to what happened in Europe. Very scary indeed. My father-in-law's neighborhhood got hit the worst of anyplace - roofs torn off and deposited on top of other houses, sheet metal wripped off buildings and wrapped around lightposts, cars overturned. We drove into the area before the police closed it to the public (my husband's business was just a couple miles from this neighborhood) - it looked so incredibly scary and it was amazing and a blessing that nobody was hurt since it happened at 5:00 am.

Wow sounds like awful weather eng and skiptothesue so glad you and your family are ok..I live in the heart of the tornado belt and starting in March we have them all the time..I live in a valley so they usually go around me..but have hit all around me before..about 14years ago on easter sunday one hit this little community about 20 miles from here and totally destroyed a church..there were a lot of people killed and lots hurt..the pastors little 5 yr old girl was killed..It totally wiped out that little community..I dont usually get scared but that day I was..I had me and the 3 boys in Josh's closet..we nearly died from being crammed in there like sardines but better safe than sorry..boys thought it was a great adventure.LOL

We have had several tornado's hit our area. Years ago on Palm sunday (I was little) one came through while my parents were playing cards with my Aunt Uncle and Grandmother. I was in bed and my sister was laying on the couch. The wind started wistling. My dad called to my sister and told her to get to the basement. As soon as she reached the basement door. The picture window above the couch, shattered everywhere, mostly on the couch. My dad used to tease that if it were my other sister, she would have been dead because she always said "in a minute".

Another tornado on the 4 of July, Our tree fell in our driveway. Part of it hit the corner of our House and it jammed our front door so it wouldn't open. We had gone on a trip to Indiana. We got a call saying the tree was on our house. We had all kinds of bad visions. But it wasn't as bad as we had thought. Luckily the majority of the tree was in the drive.

Yep, I'm alive and a little better today. Don't feel AS sick, but my eyes still have a cold all their own, ugh. Started feeling all right yesterday afternoon after having slept some of it off...even went out doors for a bit mid-afternoon (gee, I just had to experience the snow, haha!...and you can see some pics of it on a page I just whipped together right quick and uploaded)). Mainly napped on and off the rest of the day. Something like over 400 churches in our area have cancelled their services up here today, so that's tells you we're all basically stuck at home. We got almost 12 inches of snow here in Newton. So pretty out...except where the dogs have done their duties, LOL! Clouds are even now starting to break, so it's gonna be blinding out there pretty soon.

I'll be back and forth from the computer. We're going to have to do some snow shoveling today, plus I need to clean house since I let it go while being so sick. Don't know if the kids/grandkids will make it from Hutchinson tomorrow for my birthday...the highway is closed between here and there because it's snowpacked/ice. Guess we'll see what happens.

And speaking of tornadoes...maybe I'll tell you a few stories later. Been in a few of those living here in Kansas!
